The Elora Halloween Scare Fair is a two-day, three-night event in the form of a traditional olde english fair with a medieval daytime feel with an eerie nighttime twist! There are three main components to the Scare Fair, each of which occur on the grounds of The Elora Centre for the Arts. • Tim Murton’s Twilight Zoo will showcase the illuminated creatures created by Elora’s own Tim Murton. Patrons will weave there way between fantastic, frightening, and funny friends. Tim’s creatures will be on display from October 13th to 31st. • The Monster March, a non-motorized parade, will occur on Saturday October 22, 2011 at 6:30pm. Costumed participants will march down Metcalfe Street to conclude at the Elora Centre for the Arts with a complimentary hot drink and an opportunity to enjoy the night time events. The day time gives vendors a chance to sell costumes, services (ie: face painting) to those participating in the parade as well as to patrons attending in the evening. • The final, and integral, component of the Elora Halloween Scare Fair is the Bizarre Bazaar. The Bazaar is all about getting patrons to stretch their creativity and imaginations. Vendors at the Bizarre Bazaar are encouraged to get ‘back to basics’ and combine selling their homemade, unique goods with getting patrons involved. Of course, vendors are also invited to sell manufactured goods that are Halloween or Medieval themed. Overall, an interactive entertaining event where you can take part. Artisans, buskers, painters, bakers, jugglers, thespians and storytellers all welcome you! |
