I worked at a place that made insulation. We formed large styro blocks and then cut them smaller for roof pitches and other types of insulation. The company also supplied styro for being cut into holiday designs and after they were done they would recycle it.
Some place in Allentown, Pa. It's been 12 years.
It could be found in Home Depot and get a name off the bag. I tried their search on the HD site. One of the worst searches. It sucks.
Insulation Corp. of America http://www.insulationcorp.com/home.shtml
EPS- Expanded polystyrene
Maybe sales can get you someone closer?

Go to a boat dealer, they use them to pack the boats for shipping. They have to pay to get rid of them, they loved us when we asked them if we could haul them away.
Powerfoam is a company out of Dallas that we used.
You can buy in blocks of 4'x4'x16', and its really good prices too.
