I need to build some walls, and I would love to find some flame retardant 1/4" luan. My local Menards can't order it. Any suggestions?
buy luan and fire proof it?

That's what we did, built the frames from 2 x 4s and screwed the luan onto it and slathered on the"Flame-No-Mo" or whatever it was called. Your fire marshal might want to witness the treatment.
That's the best way to go I think.

Thanks for the info. I went to a workshop a few years ago at Transworld and they mentioned they buy their luan pre-treated with flame retardant. They said it was much cheaper this way -- and more accepted by the Fire Marshal.
I wish I could remember who "they" are!

Yes, we also use the after-market stuff, we get ours from a place in New York, I wanna say it's NY Fire Shield??? Check the vendor list on this site.
