View Full Version : Spray Foam Systems?

Hey everyone!

It's been awhile since I posted on here but we've been hard at work on Grimlock Manor Year two. Anyways...

Does anyone know of any good spray foam systems that you may have used and were happy with? I am looking to make a little mini cavern of sorts. We are using chicken wire and cloth to build up the rocks but want to spray over them then hard coat the foam...

Any advice would be welcome! Hope everyone is doing well!

I have a spray foam system. It ran me $1500.00. You have to buy "set-ups" which consist of a part "A" and part "B". The system is handy if you have a fairly large area to cover. It is a bit of a pain to clean though. The set-up's run around $300 I believe. I know you can buy smaller systems, sort of a one time use thing. If you would like more info PM me.

Jay, when we built our first cave and waterfall we used sprayfoam from a company called tiger foam. www.tigerfoam.com . It worked great and was easy to use. I hope this helps.

Thanks guys,

The info is much appreciated! Greg, I decided to go with the Tiger Foam, I think it's going to do the job we need it to do and I like that it's fire rated too which is great!

Jay, one other thing, we used spandex and stapled it around to form some of our caverns. it stretched easily in any direction we wanted it to go and a light spray of foam hardened it up so we could see what it would look like before spraying it heavier.
I liked the flame retardant aspect of it also which is why we used the product in the first place.
Pricing is not bad and it goes a long way. Be sure to purchase plenty of mixing nozzles you dont want to run out of those.
Good luck and happy caving!

Hey Greg

Do you happen to have photos of the building of your
caves that you can share?

We have a 50 foot cave we built out of spray foam.... we brought in a local company that does spray insulation to do the foaming. If you go to lovetoscream.com you can see some pics.... I can also send you more if you want.

Thanks for sharing the pics Gary & Kevin, they were great! We just got our foam system in so we will be planning out the cave layout soon and I am looking forward to it.

Here is a couple of pics of the cave. It only shows one small part but I hope it gives you an idea.

If you use chicken wire and backing make sure your backing is very close to the wire, it will save you allot of time, foam and headache. here is a pic of part of my cave
