View Full Version : Can we all pitch in and do someting nice for MUD (Daniel) I have an idea!

We all know MUD STICKY here on the forum right? He's a very nice young man who loves this industry and is trying hard to build his own haunt. I propose a charitable idea something we can do for him. What do you say to chipping in a few dollars to buy him a CFX mask? This is something he has been wanting for years and can no way right now afford it. He had a specific one in mind but is open to anything even a used one. I'll chip in and I know others that I have talked with will also chip in. What do you guys think? Just something nice for someone we all know and who has such a haunters heart. It can be any amount, a dollar here and there can add up, no need to respond with a dollar amount just a yea or nay then we can move forward. I'm a YEA!!

What do ya say guys?

For Mud?

Shhhhiiiiiiiiiitttttttt. I'll put a couple bucks in to support the cause. But only if there's enough people to be able to go in to make it happen.

only if there's enough people to be able to go in to make it happen.

You can start a Kickstarter (http://www.kickstarter.com/) for him. Set the end goal for a price of a mask - If the goal is reached, he gets it all. If not, he gets nothing.

OMG Larry you are just too sweet for words!! Thanks. Zach, I will try to set that up. Like I mentioned before someone out there might have a used one that they would be willing to sell, if so please post here. Seriously this kid travels to Trans World every year. He loves the haunt world and posts on here quite a bit. Most of you have given him a hard time here and there so lets give him a break this season. I'll get something set up. And yes if we can't make the goal then no one will be out anything.

Phatman.....thank you!

Thank you :)

Nothing against Cfx but if that is the mask you truly want. I could do that same look w a bald cap and some blood gelatin! To hell w spending 565 some dollars or more! Just my two cents! Im a down to earth person and I tell it like it is!

Damon you are right about that you can't replace a great makeup artist with a mask but you can substitute with a mask. If he is a small show it is tough to have tine to do everything yourself. And a mask that you can put on in a couple of minutes may be his only option. CFX makes some of the best masks out there and I would love to have about 10 of them. I would also love to be a bad ass makeup artist but I pretty much suck at that, so if I were a small show without a makeup artist a mask may be my best option.

I've seen a lot of make up jobs from haunts and I can say with 100% certainty that I've never seen any make up close to the quality of a CFX mask, it's not even close. He'll do we'll getting a CFX mask in his haunt.

You all are very nice and I thank you so much!!! I will get the "kickstart" set up later today. I've been so busy here at work and at the haunt I just seem to run out of time way to fast. I've talked with Shane and he will donate also. A dollar here a dollar there it will add up. No one needs to break their bank here. We can all do this for Mud as his haunt family. OK MUD we are on our way. This may take some time and it might not be ready this season but hang in there it will happen.

Love all of you!!!!

Have you considered any other companies for the mask? CFX does great work but there are some cheaper companies out there with masks just as good if you looking for a burn victim mask - Shattered FX has two great masks - One would save close to $170, the other would save almost $300

http://www.shatteredfx.com/Burnvictim.php - $399.99

http://www.shatteredfx.com/Meltdown.php - $299.99

I have one of the metldown masks and it is a great half mask!!

If it is good for the haunt industry then it is good by me. Ill keep an open eye for the kickstarter link.

Most haunts! Not all haunts! Don't have a good quality makeup artist! Trust me it wouldn't take much for me to duplicate the mask that mud showed on here. Now grant it I know it would be better for mud to just have a mask! So no ones trying to get into a debate on here. But I know w appliances and good makeup what im capable of. Not everyone is probably as talented. Good haunt horror makeup is a pet pieve of mine! And a lot of haunts fail in this department unfortunately! Damon

Damon I do agree that a great makeup job is king. But when you work in dark corners and interact with a customer for only 5 to 15 seconds it is almost a waist to put a great makeup job on. But this is off topic. Mud just does the best he can with what he has and if we can get him something special the that is good. The one thing I love about haunters is that most of them would give you the shirt off their back to help a good cause and that's the croud I would like to be with any day.

Hello everyone, I write this with a little tear in my eye.....how wonderful everyone is here on this board!!! OK I know I get a little emotional but you all mean so much to me I can't help it. Here is my news..

CFX (Jonathan and the whole CFX crew) has graciously donated the mask!!!! Yes I know they rock!! I can't thank you enough for your compassion for this young man who so desperately wants to be a part of this community and who loves the haunt industry as much as we all do. And Austin you have gone above and beyond to help us get there, thank you! And Larry, you little bastard, who would have known that you too will send a DVD or two to help this young man get started. You're just an ol' sweetie!!! I think even Allen, our hero, will be sending a DVD his way. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for making this happen. You have man a young man's year believe me!! May this be the start of a fantastic haunt season for all of us. What a better way to start off ...by giving from the heart. Bless you all!!

I'm so happy, thank you all so much!

07-22-2013, 03:16 PM
That is an absolutely amazing thing they all did!

Use the tools you were given well mud! Best of luck this year my friend!

Super excited for you Mud!! You should see the mask in about 4 weeks. We want lots of pictures please of everything that you are doing. Wishing you are great season!! Thank you again to everyone who helped make this possible. Pretty fantastic is all I can say. CFX is the silicone mask company that we use here at the haunt. We have 5 and the customers love them. They can't figure out if its a mask or real. Fun to watch their expressions as they try to make the determination. We have several roamers that wear the CFX masks. Thank you again CFX !!! You all rock!!!!

I guess the people I know who believe the internet is evil (and yes, I actually know people who believe it) can stick that in their pipes and smoke it! :)
