Waterproof Paper Mache?

Does anybody know of any way to make paper mache waterproof?

We spray polyeurothane over it, but so far, I can only get it to last through 1 season. I tried clear seal, but that didn't hold up to sun light.

I made a PVC skeleton out of paper mache and had the same problem, finnaly I brushed on a thin layer of latex (the flooring adhesive you get a Wal-Mart) and the prop survived a thunderstorm last week after I left it outside. I was impressed. The prop should have turned to mush.
