View Full Version : MHC & Vendors

Rather than to continue to hijack the TW thread, I though I should start a new one here:

Without them you just have a slightly larger HauntCon.

My point exactly Finnegan. TW is really two shows in one location.

For it to be taken as serious as Transworld, you'd need Unit 70, Scarefactory, Distortions, Oak Island, Gore Galore, Fright Props, Ghostride, ACC, Studio Tek,

Unit 70 - didn't do TW. You can probably make arrangements to visit their shop though

Scarefactory - not on the vendor list yet but stay tuned for big news

Distortions - I will speak with them

Oak Island - Coming

Gore Galore - Coming

Fright Props - I have talked with them in the past and I will be doing so again

ACC - Not doing shows anymore. I have had discussions with their new distributor

Studio Tek - Probably too late in the season for Robert but I will be talking to him again

Anybody else? I am always willing to talk to these companies and it helps them to make a decision when I can say that people are asking for them. :)

psssssssssssssssst Barry, I sent a email to a couple of Vendors about MHC the other day..... discussing the Benefits Of MHC Vendor to Vendor...

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to add a couple more things about the Midwest Haunters Convention Tradeshow..

It will be much bigger this year and features a 25,000 square foot tradeshow floor and over 100 vendor booths. Please check out our exciting lineup of vendors at http://www.midwesthauntersconvention.com/vendors.htm! We expect to sell out soon. The MHC tradeshow is free!

In addition to the tradeshow - we have a GREAT lineup of educational seminars, and FANTASTIC social events including haunt tours and parties. I'd also recommend that if you plan to attend and want to stay at our host hotel (connected to the convention center) that you make your reservations soon. Please see our website for more information or contact Barry.

Hope to see you in June!

Hi Barry we are a new vendor and are thinking about showing at MHC, we were at Transworld this year. I have a couple of questions though, at Transworld we took a TON of orders but I heard at MHC most people expect a lot of cash and carry is that true? Also is it ok to just take orders as many of ours are custom made props? Thanks for your time.

03-30-2008, 05:59 PM

I doubt that I can attend but I want to donate several hundred magazines to you... I have an overload of many back issues. Are you interested?

03-30-2008, 07:02 PM

You are correct, MHC has a reputation as being a cash and carry show. The timing of MHC makes it such that haunt owners have specific plans and needs for the upcoming season and it is one last chance for you vendors to get in front of your customers and sell off remaining inventory. That being said many people still take orders at our show and that was the main reason for moving the show a month earlier than in past years.

Sure! We have our bag stuffing party scheduled for June 8th. As long as we have them by then, we will be glad to get them out to the participants!

It's amazing to see how much MHC has grown, since I first attended in 2004.

If you compare, this year MHC will be almost as big as the Haunt Show portion of Transworld (MHC=58 vendors / Haunt Show=71 vendors).

03-31-2008, 03:35 AM
Jeff, MHC is seriously worth DOING! Hope to see you there!!!
Larry, You Need to DONATE one of those Magazines this way, since one never made it on the otherside of that big black CURTAIN!
Adam, I got Five on MHC will outgrow the TW hauntshow, THIS SEASON!!!!

03-31-2008, 07:07 AM
Who is ACC?

03-31-2008, 07:46 AM
ACC is Anatomical Chart Company, the source for the Bucky Skeletons etc...They now sell through a distributor.

I guess the only thing left to do is next year move it up a couple months to winter for the vendors to be able to set production runs and it will be perfect!!

The expressions on the faces of the people at Transworld were priceless...we even received 4 endorsements from the medical profession (3 surgical nurses, 1 doctor) on the realism of our parts. Listen for us on Rotting Flesh Radio's Transworld show.

Great sales pitch, ROB!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, where is that salespitch off switch?

04-04-2008, 08:13 AM
Grrr.... I am making myself yet another note to add the Zombie Walk info to the website!

Yes, we will be collecting food for the MidOhio Food Bank at MHC in cooperation with the Zombie Walk. I think that is a great way to get some positive PR for the industry!

04-04-2008, 08:57 AM

Shameless promotion or clever salesmanship?!?! Rob is the king of well placed information!

04-04-2008, 06:24 PM
Guess when you post 10 times a day on every thread on the site it’s tough to NOT be “well placed” lol

Rob, I like to know how you have time to get any work done? I’m swamped trying to fill orders and get things ready for Hauntcon and I only sleep about 3 to 4 hours a day. Need to take some time management lessons from you buddy!

04-04-2008, 06:29 PM
Haven't you heard? Rob has perfected cloning. lol

04-04-2008, 07:11 PM
Yeah... we all know he's just

From the member standing looks like Rob has a ways to go to catch up with both Virgil and Barry. However, you guys do have a couple of years jump on Rob. All three of you are going to have to go balls out to catch up with Jim, he’s putting you all to shame.

Let’s try some fun math facts shall we?
Hmmm… if Barry spent 5 min reading and writing a post at 1,334 = 6,670min / by 60min = 111.2 hrs / 8 hr work day = about 14 work days.

If Jeff slept 3 hrs a night while the avg Joe slept 8-9 hrs a night, Jeff gains 6 hrs more life then ave Joe a day. So when Jeff turn 50 years old how much more will Jeff have lived? 6 x 365 x 50/24/365= 12.5 years. Good god, no wonder I feel so old…. Yep this is how I use my extra eternity….not very good use of my time either….
