View Full Version : Fear Cams...

This year Scarefest will employ THREE ScreamCams on our website. The Darkness will have three different camera's set up through the attraction with sound, turned on 24/7. Users can even log in and control the movement of the cameras, in other words pan the camera left right up and down.
We're going to try and make the site INTERACTIVE...
We want people to visit our site daily! We will also have a daily blog on the front page so we can update the going on at Scarefest daily.
We will take photos of our guests and use them on our site, like best scared patron, blah, blah.
I don't know what you think of this but we're going to do HUNTS for FREE tickets...if you heck the blog at XXX time you will get directions to find FREE tickets, and more.
What does the haunted world think, and or do you have more idea's to make your sites more interactive, or creating viral marketing efforts?

Sounds awesome Larry! Didn't KC Beast try this out before? I think that I remember seeing some video footage on their website only not with the sound. So the free ticket thing will be some sort of scavenger hunt clue thing? Sounds actually very cool. I may have to implement something like this into my theme park this year. Please continue to keep us posted on this.

We imbedded clues on different web pages a couple years ago. You had to check out every page to get the clues. It was one way to make sure our sponsors got a good look!! If you solved the clues you were entered for a VIP package! I haven't done it recently as we revamoped the site. Maybe it's time to bring it back!

This a great idea! I love seeing interactivity between on and offline. Be sure to post the link when the cams are up - I am really interested in seeing how this will all work.
Also, will you guys be doing any sort of "code sharing" so others can post the video streams on their site? May be a great way to drive in more traffic...

I'm getting the final pricing in today...its not cheap but think about how cool this will be for the guests of your website?
Has anyone done this before?

Monty is a great originator!! His haunt is truly a legend.

Actually John, having a web cam is an OLD idea, that has been done a zillion times. I'm actually talking about a viral effort like giving out daily notices to find things around town, like they're doing with Batman right now.
We had a webcam last year through Fearnet, and it was really cool.
I'm more so talking about trying to get people to come to your site every single day for a month doing things that is almost like a game of sorts.

I think the only downside is only one user can control the camera at any one time.

People love reality stuff..why not? Good luck bro!

I thought what Rich Hanf did was really awesome, I would consider that some sort of Viral effort... that was very unique.
Here is the problem, the problem is we're finding it harder and harder to market our attractions because of the weaken magazine, newspaper, and radio and hell television with 6 zillion stations.
I think Batman Dark Knight has got this right!
I would love to hear other peoples comments.

What do you have to do to see or get this Batman Darkknight viral thing anyway?

Yes, I would like to see this viral thing from Batman. I checked the movie site and it's only 3 trailers... so if I could see it, I could give more input.

The Viral stuff they're doing is ALL Over the place....
www.ibelieveinharveydent.com to websites where you find clues, to even a website for the Gothem Newspaper you can read the daily news.
There are tons more.
