The G-Fan convention (Godzilla) is immediately after that. I think it starts @ July 3 or 4th at the Rosemont convention center. We're going to that show. But, I don't know much about Wizard World.

05-28-2008, 11:45 AM
How do they fill up that whole convention center with Godzilla stuff? Does Godzilla himself make an appearance?

05-28-2008, 05:37 PM
Ah, Flashback Weekend is the same weekend, at the Crowne...check out www.flashbackweekend.com...40th anniversary NOTLD reunion. 30th anniversary Phantasm reunion, right across the street from Wizard World!

UPDATE: G-Fan is actually in the Crowne Plaza Rosemont, but I think Godzilla himself destroys the city of Rosemont that weekend. Should be pretty cool! It's our first time attending.

Wizard World is a huge comic convention that my wife makes me take her to. It has a ton of comic and movie stuff and is in the Donald Stephens convention center. They have celebrities if your into meeting celebrities, I am not so I don't even bother with that part. They do usually have panels there that you can sit in on. In fact last year at one of them they showed the Dark Knight trailer before it was released and they had some of the people from the movie sit in on the panel. It can be a lot of fun.

We got Comic-Con down in San Diego.

05-30-2008, 11:29 AM
I think Wizard World is in 3 or 4 cities every year. I know it is in Philly this weekend. I thought it came to San Diego once a year as well.

05-30-2008, 11:31 AM
Nope I am wrong. It is in Philly, Chicago, Texas, and LA. Gotham night will be premiering in Chicago, should be a lot of fun!

06-24-2008, 07:36 AM
Ok so I guess I am the only one going to this weekend, LOL! Not one comic fan on this whole board huh? Oh well, there is suppose to be some Dark Knight stuff there this weekend including the premiering Gotham Knights that bridges Batman Begins to The Dark Knight.

We will all most likely be across the street at the Crowne

Scary stuff.......I might have to have someone watch our table while I get some comics though!!!

I believe Alex Ross is actually suppose to be there this weekend as well. What is flashback weekend? Is it something anyone can go to? If so maybe I will check that out.

Back on topic, I am attending Wizard World on Saturday and also will be across the street at the Flashback Weekend too.

06-26-2008, 09:20 AM
Hopefully, our paths will cross this weekend. I will be in Rosemont Friday morning. I probably won't go to the WW until Saturday. I plan to go into the city Friday.

06-26-2008, 10:38 AM
I noticed Chad Savage is a celeb at Flashback... Kudos to him!

06-26-2008, 11:36 AM
Yeah WW will be fun and Ill be at Flashback as well. Yes Chad is there once again. He is always one of the primary sponsors for the event each yr and also does the Zombie Pinup contest.

Always a good time.

Anyone attending either event give me a call and we'll hook up for a drink and get some reactions about the event from oyu for RFR either on air or off.

Keep on Rotting.

06-27-2008, 09:26 AM
Well, I am putting up the new RFR Show and then am off to Flashback Weekend and WW today, tomorrow and Sunday.

WooHoo me.

06-30-2008, 06:36 AM
Anyone catch the Gotham Knight premiere at WW? I watched it and sat in on the panel afterwards.

While I was at Wizard World Saturday I learned that Michael Turner, a very talented, respected artist and I think writer, passed away Friday night. This was my wifes very favorite person in the Comic industry and she was pretty saddened by it as were a lot of people. He was a fairly young guy I think and quite a name in the industry. That was a bummer but other than that it was a great show. I didn't have time to make it to flashback, anyone have news on how that went?
