Hey everyone
i need some major help
this year in making my haunt in my backyard and i want it to still have an indoor feel i just made it in the backyard for more space.
So basically what i want to do is make a freestanding structure to house the haunt without breaking the bank. I would figure that it would have to be made of wood to some extent because plastic sheeting definetly wont cut it with the wind since this will have to be up for about a week and a half at least.
Also we want the haunt to be anywhere from 1500 to 2000 Square feet. just the structure alone.
I am also having a full size cemetary in the front yard with several coffins and tons of large gravemarkers. What type of theme for the haunt would go with the graveyard.
Pretty much i am so lost in my planning that i dont know where to start building.
So any ideas would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Swap Meet canopies. Plastic tarps with grommets, bungie ties, EMT conduit and metal tube corners.

What about an old church or mansion?

I think a gothic/mausuleam/crypt themed haunt would blend in well with your graveyard scene. And of coarse a victorian mansion haunt would work as well.

Hit your local dump/landfill up and see if they have any sheets of paneling or plywood that you can grab for free and build yourself some 4x8 modular panels.

I think any type of building can be equipt with a graveyard. Your story should reflect that. For example, you could have a murderer and he buries the bodies in his backyard. The killer lives so far in the boonies that the cops have no idea whats going on. Then all of a sudden all the dead bodies came alive to seek revenge for being murdered.

..and since "All the dead bodies" smell real bad, they seek revenge by rubbing their rotten body parts all over you!
Now you will smell just like them!
It's "revenge" and it's very far from "Sweet"!
Of course maybe it is a plot much more sinister, maybe there is a pack of wild dogs chasing that rotten-meat scent and now look who is in their sights!

Lol! Never mind jim he has been smelling the sinister scents too long! It sounds like the movie phantasm to me. Go with the old house/mortuary with all the graves and or tombstones in the yard. Front or back or where ever you want. Add a different story line you dont want to copy everything. Try to make it as original or your very own as you can. Good luck! Get in there and get going!
