Just came in the mail today. This new Hauntworld has a good base of both ads and articles combined. I feel that the 3 states of terror was an exceptional article to read , among others such as the bates motel piece. Larry and his staff did an excellent job on this issue !!!

Well, if it isn't Mike Honcho himself!

Yes, its a very nice issue. It also seems heavier and more packed full of goodness than I remember the last issue being.

I haven't recieved mine yet, but my friend from Ohio told me that the layout was close to 13th hour version, why would hauntworld change there format for a flash in the pan magazine?

We are not changing our style or anything for another magazine...even before 13th hour magazine EVER came along, ever heard of them, every existed we where already having Brainstorm layout the featured articles. Nothing changed there... so if you want to see one copied they other well it would have to be the other way around. Brainstorm has NEVER seen a copy of 13th Hour, and in fact have their very own style, and that is what you are seeing here.

You want to talk about copy...c'mon I featured 13th Gate then they do, blah, blah. Bottom line we didn't copy ANYTHING they are doing... I'll tell you something did you see one page of our magazine devoted to ONE photo? NOPE!

If you ask me 13th Hour is 110% copying the style of Cydney Neil and how she layed out the Rocky Point article. That session was laid out by Cydney Neils crew and that is the exact style we see now in 13th Hour.

Lets stick to our magazine on our website not the other magazine or other magazines.

What did you think of the magazne? Get your hands on one and let us know what you think.

I'm glad to hear others loved it. It was a LOT OF WORK!

For those interested there will be another magazine going into production in LATE OCTOBER to release in December. That is the plan.

Another issue will release in March pre-Transworld show issue.

SO EXPECT TWO MORE ISSUES nearly back to back coming soon!

The next magazine is already ALL set with a theme and everything...can't say a word now because other people will just copy everything we do.

SHHHHHH... all I can say is it will be SUPER COOL!

This thread is about this Hauntworld Magazine NOT how much we charge at the Darkness or my girlfriend or anything else. Stay on topic... all attempts to hijack topics and change them into a war on myself or someone else will be removed. Period!

JUST FYI... a lot of hard work went into the magazine and for those who enjoy it I'm happy to hear it! For those who don't hope we can do a better job next time. I've learned in this industry you can't ever make everyone happy all the time, in fact some people refuse to be happy even if you did everything you could to make that one person happy, while upsetting the rest. Its a never ending story!

Jason, I'm in California and haven't received mine yet either. I have learned you just have to be patient with the post office.

Recieved a renewel notice saying my subscription lapsed a week or so ago, did get one issue awhile back.

Still waiting in Seattle for me second, maybe it will show but not getting my hopes up due to the letter.

East Coast received last week. Haven't had time to read it yet. Skimmed through it and liked what I saw. Thicker paper with high quality graphics/photos equals HD in a mag.

I'm in Imperial County, east of San Diego. And I still haven't received my copy yet.

At the end of the day, it's all about content -- and the content in the latest HW is great. I appreciated the coverage of the Schoolhouse (a long-time fave of the ScareHouse crew) - and also the summary of so many unusual attractions in Ohio/Ky/Indiana that I had either never heard of before, or that haven't received significant exposure before.

I'm a fan of the format for the 2 haunt feature stories, as well (summary of event followed by 13 questions) It was refreshing to see articles go beyond the usual summary of features and highlights and get into the actual mindset and approach of the creators.

I will, however, neither confirm nor deny the existance of the alleged "secret bowling alley" that Ben mentioned.

It was worth the wait -- great job.

Thanks Scott, and everyone...

This latest issue was a REAL work for art for us around here. We've been moving slowly towards Brainstorm doing the whole thing for a while, with each issue we've had them do more and more of it. Now they've done the whole thing and we probably will have them do future issues.

The next issue will come out after the IAAPA show and will be a THEMED magazine, meaning it will have ONE theme, although I can't say what it is yet. .. however Scott you are right featuring more than one haunt per magazine is the way to go.

We already have ONE picked out...

What haunt would the everyone like to see featured in the next magazine (releasing December 2008)????

Then we have the Transworld 2009 March issue...what haunts would you like to see featured for that issue?

This magazine is for YOU, YOU pay for it...so who do you want to see???

and I haven't gotten mine yet. Been waiting for it......
By my calculations, I should have one more issue left before renewal.......

I would like to see a issue done on House of Torment in Texas. And I think Jim deserves to be in an issue of Haunt World. He really has a unique attraction with the Ravens Grin Inn. And for the March issue why not have the Darkness featured in the Transworld issue. After all its in St. Louis next year and that issue should be all about Transworld shouldnt it?! I would like to know the history on the Darkness and how it got started from the ground up. Kinda like your editorial in the latest magazine about you Larry & Jim going to Transworld for the first time and loaded down your car with props ect. That would really be great. Tell about the old Welsch Factory and David Welsch and his part in the Darkness. And tell about the ghost storie of the old baby carriage factory. Alot of your actors have told me some stories about it being haunted. That was my favorite Darkness when you had the Frankenstein in the first room. And then tell all about the new Darkness what all it took to make it one of the best haunts in the nation.
