View Full Version : Poll, Should Larry REmove Jollyroger/Ghostman?

11-22-2006, 09:33 AM
This guy is a distraction/disgrace/and upsetting to many that make up this board of friends in the haunt community. He has begun to post the same stuff that wil evolve into more outlandish, stupid and contoversial topics and threatening emails etc. Why he does this is beyond our comprehension except that he is a very sad, sick, lonely individual.
If you want to see him banned from this board, let your vote say it.

I really do not post here very often, however i read the posts almost everyday its is one of the few sites i go to. and i enjoy doing so. I often send people to this site, How ever i find that with the type of posts that Jolly makes i can not feel comfortable doing so! There are many many wonderful people here and i love to hear what they have to say. I seems that most spend a little time thinking about what they put into print! Jolly puts trash talk into print and then says sorry. If you think first most times one will not find the need to say sorry! As i have been reading his posts for way too long and watched the repremands he has gotten i at first thought well maybe he is comeing around. Not the case as we all can see. I for one agree with Dirk he has had his chance.I dont want to be surprised with the content of his posts anymore. I am not easily offended but some that i refer to this site i cannot speak for . The hate thing i can get on the street I dont need it here . thats my vote !!This is my passion it is what i do, haunting !!!
Thank you

wow, this whole "post inappropiate comment, get yelled at, say your sorry and it will never happen again" is starting to sound like dejavu all over again!

I don't know, maybe I am missing something. I freely admit that I don't read all of the posts on every topic, only those that look like they will appeal to me, but I have not really noticed a problem. In fact, I just went back and (via his profile) reviewed his last 100 posts or so (though admittedly not in context) and while there were some things that may have been off topic, not particularly well written, or even somewhat inappropriate, but nothing truly inappropriate. Am I missing something or are people just over reacting?

[quote="Jolly_Roger"]Gimme a chance because I haven't yet begun threatening others

I've been tired of his crap for months but was told to give him a break for possibly being a retarded child just needing attention. At one point there was a jolly roger myspace page where I could see pictures of what we were dealing with. It seem to be currently blank. Beyond threatening, which doesn't really amount to much, he continues to post links over and over and wonder where the rest of the forums are he can spend his time abusing, spamming and generally trying to make the crap he posts seem like he is doing everyone a big favor to gain some kind of favor. Even pictures of his Halloween displays turned out to be living vicariously through others photos.

He is ghostman, hauntmaster, jolley roger in so many places and goes off on these unskilled tantrums quite often because he can.

In reality he is an 80 pound little Mexican kid struggling with the language that really needs a hair conditioner and has some kind of personality disorder and apparently no one watching him. Eventually he will be dumped out on the streets and won't have all of this spare time on his hands. Oh, how cute an unkept baby. Is this a babysitting forum? I know some people like playing off of what has been put up to fadder here but, I'm sure there is room for some of the other 2,000 members to interact a bit. It'd hard to extract or offer meaning full content when every one of these forums if the $5 cardboad coffin to be painted with real shoplifted paint from the dollar store and pumpkin carving forum.

I vote to dump him. That way no one is having to watch every post every hour of the day for fear of offending someone. Being stupid is one thing, I'm sure I post a lot of things people think have wasted their time but intentionally wanting to threaten or be verbally abusive to just see if you can get away with it is over and over. Or using other people's content over and over to see if you can get away with it over and over. Or wanting to know where other people are or where their content is so you can drag it somewhere unauthorized to pretend to be someone. Oh, how cute, give him a break?

He's not cute, he needs a bath and a job.

Offensive posts have been deleted so they do not show up. Probably the only character over the past year who has needed ther to be maintenance on this forum routinely.

I think he went a little turret syndromey on that one too when people started pointing out who started the thread.

11-22-2006, 09:25 PM
Real name is Ron L. Picked xxx for the age I was when I created the screen name, 14 years ago. Dirk is the name of a fictional character in a series of BOOKS I read, Dirk Pitt by author Clive Cussler. You see JR, I read BOOKS. I also have two degrees from post high school. Associates in Marketing and a BA in Elem Education. I also have two degrees in the martial art Tae Kwon Do.

No, I dont need to watch porno movies, I am trying to make this world a better, happier place, compared to you, who likes to spout off at the keyboard at whatever you think it will take to get people mad or whatever you think is funny. I have NEVER been yelled at on any of the boards I have been on. I have NEVER been banned. In fact, I TREASURE all my friends on this board. JWarfield, Ken, Kevin, Nicole, Empress, SPFX Chick, Dan F, Tattoo, Steve, Greg C, Kel

So that is me in a nutshell.

Greg Chrise
11-22-2006, 09:57 PM
I think what Ron just offered was not excitable in the least. Lesson #45 as you grow up, not everyone thinks drugs and alchohol are going to help you achieve anything or are an escape or aid to any creativity. So even that one line was perhaps an insult?

The way you are running your sentences together makes me wonder. Maybe you are typing under the influence?

Who is "We"?

11-22-2006, 10:34 PM
Sorry, at 44 years, I have never smoked pot or did anything stronger than regular booze in my life. Never found a need to escape into "Reefer Madness" AS far as having to calm down, many of these people on the board know me and have met me and know I am not one to get riled up too much. They also know that I am the type of a guy that will drag his butt out aof bed at 3:30 in the AM if a friend calls in trouble. However, there are a few people that will tell you that I am not one to get upset. Inside this pussycat personality beats the heart of a warrior.

11-22-2006, 10:50 PM
Sir Rodger,

I wonder why a person of such high caliber such as yourself, would dilly-dally with such pointless banter, The more I delve into your posts you become more and more of a scholar and an upstanding person...

I wish I were just like you. You know... idiotic, prone to violence and mindless bashing, and dont forget the rediculusly horrible grammar.... Please do us all a favor.... ONCE AGAIN, and leave. And dont come back as the ghost of ghostman, or hauntmaster, or grimm man, or any other remotely idiotic name your mind may be able to conjure up. Leave.

Or are you going to threaten to shoot me again?

I'm imagining some Forest Gump action, just jumping off the porch and running across the country.

Naw, that was in the 60's. Kids today just type and call grandma on their cell phones for another grape soda.

Gregg, Just the vision of you in your Grandma outfit, grey wig, print dress, old lady black shoes with stocky heels is turning me on!
Maybe I'm ESP-Picking this signal up because this is also your Turkey-Basting costume, and you must be wearing it right now?
ESP, "Gift?" Or "Curse?"

Nope Vampirella wore that costume tonight to Thanksgiving dinner. If it really is a turn on though I could put it on and do some grandma bitching videos live streaming for 3.99 per minute. You know swimming pool season and haunted house season are over now, I might have to do something for winter income.

P.S. anyone else notice Jolly removed all of his posts in here? Keep hope alive.

I personally have not had a problem with the guy. But then again I have this buddy who reminds me how to handle problem people... I call him Iggy. A lot of us clamored for your removal, buddy. The deal was for us to calm down, but YOU had to tone down your act, which from all evidence, has not.

You should definitely have been permanently banned the first time round, for causing so much grief with your spam and racism and hatred.

If you wish to be a friend to people on here, please do them all a favor by being able to remove yourself. Thank you.

and please, do NOT send any offensive emails like last time. There nothing of value in any of them.

I believe this topic is only stoking the fire. Whether you agree or not with what is being said here, is this really something for public discussion? If he needs to be gone, then Larry should be notified and he should be gone. This should be a place of either business or a friendly community, and anything other should be shot on the spot. I don't see any progress made here besides getting everyone fired up

I hope I'm wrong

Greg Chrise
11-25-2006, 05:15 PM
What has occured over the years that this forum has been available is that most everyone has been in contact or at least one off contact with everyone else in an intimate freindship kind of way. Not a cold cyber space code name that it is difficult to deal with. So now a cyber punk arrives in our midst and we are supposed to tolerate blind spamming of some links and occasional turrett syndrome and figure this is another friend in the making? If everyone participates in baby sitting at some point another few years down the line this child will wisen up and understand the magnitude of this addiction to making haunted houses we all have is?

My personal quest that has led to me having a haunted house and the things I question in private could very well be discussed among the freinds here. I thought about the trail of who I have met, talked to and ventured to see that gave one more sense of direction in this business and intrest. At the present time 3 of the paople I have met and helped in my quest have passed on. The only way to know what these people left me with is to do what ever and see if it works or to somehow other to decide if certain things are better than others.

So Larry's intrest in connecting all things Halloween has connected home haunters and even home haunter/horror enthusiast wann bees and pushed them into what was once specifically a registered haunter forum. Presently I would imagine unless I call long distance Larry might check in about Xmas time and do something about this or at least comment on it. Allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery.

Well perhaps this is some kind of evolution. In the begining it was literally driving from place to place to meet people and see things and then later it was this forum that continued the connections. Additionally perhaps things like Myspace, Hauntspace and Sinisterspace further the errosion of these forums and the potential contribution and well being of close freinds.

So what is really at stake here is people who have seen their dreams come true to what ever level and those which really have no reverence to truely understand the achievements of others let alone the gumption to do it themselves over some period of time, being a from of social sabotage.

I am not appossed to horror sites or halloween sites being referenced to or linked to but this kid has one particular low life sight he keeps tryiong to get traffic to go to and every forum everywhere is victim to him. There is a difference between being sophmoric and a heartless little dork.

So far I think we still have some control over what content happens here. It isn't as simple as everyone having their own forum if they aren't happy. A portion of this forum and the content offered was not originally all about internet traffic.

So this poll stands. Do we chose our environment or are we somehow victims of it? Has Hauntworld taken up a great period of our lives or has it been the resource that really furthered the close knit community. Well if it does not end or get out of control, there is no limit to the potential this forum can provide in helping us and any new serious person wanting to join. If it is out of our control, then it is over. It was a portion of our lives, a bit of history we can remenice about in the nursing home. How once there was a bunch of true friends, a community that came to an end and allowed cyber dorks to take over.

This thread has been very enlightening. I withdraw my previous question/comment.

This has been a most informative and slightly entertaining thread. I see he's still not been removed.

Tsk tsk....

Greg Chrise
01-22-2008, 06:48 PM
He was removed in the real world with his dad bitch slapping him to get off the computer. His phone was ringing, a satelite was trained on his dad's house, places he was known to be an affiliate on the internet were killed and a few other things. We have thankfully not heard from him. It was kind of like the movie hackers.

Not only was he abnoxious and stealing everyone'e content and saying "how you like this?" but, another haunter in Virginia actually had the handle Haunt Master for a long, long time and uses it for good.

My new term for all the he was doing on the internet is officially called
Loser Generated Content.

01-22-2008, 06:54 PM
How unfortunate.

Keep an eye on my posts. They will, more often than not, be little facts about things I've been seeing around the forums.

01-22-2008, 06:56 PM
Oh, I'm sorry... stuff that he is STILL doing. I didn't want to edit my post, I prefer just posting anew so that no one can say I said one then, but edited my post to conceal it. ;-)

Dark Attraction
01-22-2008, 08:02 PM
I have been informed that he has posted my picture on other boards and pretended that it is him. I took the liberty of editing the photo:

I asked Larry more than a year ago to delete this moron... his response:

"He's not bothering anyone now...he said he wasn't going to.
lets see if he stays good!

This creep is pretty much the typical internet troll. Somewhere between watching '2 girls 1 cup' and pictures of burning cats, he found the haunt industry boards, and now he gets off on getting us all riled up. So before you post in this thread, be sure to let Larry know what you think via PM, email, and phone calls. Maybe we can return this board to civilized, professional conversation.

Greg Chrise
01-22-2008, 08:14 PM
Even if you delete him he will just come in as another loser and lift content from anywhere.

The only way to stop him is to get his dad/keeper to get him off the computer.

You don't have to be registered to see everything and lift it from anywhere. Just notifying Larry won't stop him.

We need his Dad's phone number again. Are you out there Agent S ?

01-22-2008, 09:16 PM
Sorry if this is a little of topic. Ghostess, I noticed you are from Orange Park. I'm from Julington Creek, and I was wondering if you worked at or owned a haunt down here. I know there is only 2 of them in the area, but I was just curious.

01-23-2008, 01:58 AM
Even if you delete him he will just come in as another loser and lift content from anywhere.

Larry could IP Ban him. My vote is on the table.

Haunted Illinois
01-23-2008, 04:46 AM
Iíve had some bad experiences with Ghostman in the past. On Haunted Illinois, heís posted porn, affiliate link spam and threatened other members of my board. My all-time favorite was in Dec. 2005 when Ghostman took a post from Rex Hamilton on another message board and reposted it on the Haunted Illinois message board, word-for-word, trying to pass it off as his own. He was banned, of course. This guy's got problems.

Jim Warfield
01-23-2008, 07:34 AM
"Rex Hamilton!?"

Why Rex?
Maybe Ghostman is living vicariously through others? But Rex? He bit off more than anyone one person besides Rex could "chew".
Maybe Ghost actually thinks that he IS other people?
Rex if you are reading this , look over your shoulder, watch your "back" this guy might be a stalker and if somehow he can get rid of the real person, then he can assume their identity!
I don't want your life to be a poorly made-for-TV movie Rex, with a tragic, violent ending at the hands of a psycho.
Quickly Rex, get into "character", he won't recognise you, of course going to work this way may call for a little explaining or a note from your therapist.
Forget that , I'll sign your note for you Rex, I'm a therapist...sometimes.....when
I'm not Dr. Lecktor...or Howdy Doody.

01-23-2008, 11:26 PM
As I'm sure most of you don't, I don't follow every single thread. I check the Hauntworld message boards two or three times a day. Even if I didn't own this site I would check these forums and post whenever I see something of interest.

I personally like sharing idea's and offering my opinions. Some people hate my opinions but I offer them anyway. LOL

Its just me!

Not everyone has agreed with my opinions and I'm sure most won't agree with whomever elses opinions. But I can't catch everything, because I don't read all the posts the same day. I usually read most of them though.

I really, really, really, really appreciate the people from this forum when they report spam to me. I get these emails and I come to this site and I remove them.

Yesterday someone reported some spam on Jolly Roger. I clicked on the link and couldn't really find the spam I did see photos that didn't open right so I deleted all of those posts.

When you feel someone is starting a flame war, or has gone over the edge, you just report that message as spam. I will get a link to that message emailed to me and I will delete it.

I see everyone is upset with Jolly again or someone else... where is the spam or the bad posts from him. If there are some bad posts I will remove them.

Point them out to me.

Additionally these new systems can ban IP's and I can ban email address as well. So its not that hard to ban someone but we've never done that.

I can tell you I'm not a fan of IAHA, or LP or others who mislead the industry, or create false impressions of themselves. I really hate the people who overhype something or mislead people into thinking something is fact when its really fiction.

Either way... board members from IAHA come on these board and promote what they do, promoters of Hauntcon promote their show, their seminars, or whatever else. Hauntworld Forums are OPEN TO ANYONE who wants to talk about things related to our industry here even if I don't like it. Its an open forum with little to NO restrictions on what topics you can discuss, promote or whatever else.

We created a forum just for Hauntcon so people can use these forums to find out what is going on at Hauntcon, or so they can communicate with each other to share plans or whatever. We realize that Hauntcon can be a good thing for the haunted house industry, therefore we'll promote Hauntcon, even if we're not big fans of the people organizing it. I would create a message board for any tradeshow, event, group, or whatever if it helps you communicate about our industry.

We're selling ads for our magazine and some vendors said they can get more business from just posting on these forums. Okay... and I tell them each time if that is what they want to do go for it. I'm not going to stop you because I think it cost me an ad in the magazine.

I tell every vendor promote whatever you want, as much as you want, when you want. I don't care.

The only people I would ever consider banning are people who try to harm Hauntworld or someone who is just outright trying to cause problems with other forum members.

So anyone if you see this just report it to us. If the person keeps getting reported we'll delete them as a member.

I hope this explains my feelings on the matter.

01-24-2008, 09:11 AM

Since Greg, brought up Halloween Nation, I took a trip over there. I thought the site was long gone but I guess not. Now its just a message board with all of three people making every post it seems. Jolly Roger and Vlad and Fright Crazy Jim seem to be the only three people posting over there. I thought Fright Crazy Jim posted here as well... he seems like a nice fella.

Maybe its a good thing that Jolly posts over there 100 posts a day every day of the week. LOL

01-25-2008, 05:19 PM
I deleted about 20 posts from Jolly. I can't find any posts from Ghostman. Where did he post something out of line? Larry

Greg Chrise
01-25-2008, 05:58 PM
I don't think any posts on these forums used Ghostman. This is all a year ago or more and there seems to be about 10 different names attributed to his stuff found by so many people in so many places.

Losing those posts are good as it may be one of his sources of ready to go posting material.
