View Full Version : Transworld/Hauntworld meet-up 2009...

11-10-2008, 08:18 AM
Hey guys,

At the 2007 Transworld show, the members of Hauntworld.com held a meet-up gathering at a local, popular Chicago pizza place. In 2008 at the Vegas show... a meet-up was not held...

It's now time for the 2009 Transworld show in St. Louis, the home of Hauntworld! How many of you would be interested and able to attend a meet-up?

Also need suggestions of where to meet-up!

Let's make this happen!

I think it would be great to having a gathering and be able to put faces with the screen names.

I liked the last one. LOL! Whats a Hauntworld gathering if Larry isnt there?! You can count me in no matter what.

11-10-2008, 08:06 PM
Alright, sounds like a plan... LARRY! What's a good spot to eat/hang out in St. Louis? -Tyler

11-10-2008, 09:01 PM
If I can make it to Tw this year, you can count me in.

But I wont know until just a few weeks prior, if I can make it.

11-10-2008, 09:01 PM
How about family-owned Italian restaurant up there? Or, perhaps some cookout? Well, it's up to you people!

Killer Katie
11-10-2008, 09:45 PM
Larry - you're not bringing fisticuffs, are you???? I'll intro myself, as long as there's no fisticuffs! (I LOVE that word...heh heh heh)

11-10-2008, 10:49 PM
Not sure if I am attending this year or not.

11-11-2008, 09:04 AM
Wow... so, so far we have a possibility of 18 members at the Hauntworld.com meet-up!!! AWESOME!! Anyone else? -Tyler

11-11-2008, 09:40 AM
Yeah, I'll be there. I just don't get to see Larry enough anymore. This will help me get my fix. ;)

11-22-2008, 09:20 AM

Any way we can make this a sticky?

So, any ideas of where to meet? Local spots? So far we're a hair under 20 members attending, WOW... I think this beats all past HW.com meet-ups!

Come on guys! -Tyler

11-22-2008, 09:34 AM
Tyler's right, I think we shuld make this a sticky.

I hope we can all meet up somewhere good!

Killer Katie
11-23-2008, 06:30 PM
ok.... I am not in the loop... what the heck is a sticky??? lol

11-23-2008, 06:43 PM
What day are you talking about??? Saturday remember we'll be doing this little haunt tour... lol

Friday would be good. We are planning an HHA meeting for Friday night but right after would work for me. Larry

11-23-2008, 08:36 PM
Sounds good to me... anyone else? -Tyler

11-23-2008, 09:58 PM
Ok if i go count my ass in...that is only if i can have Killer Katie as my bodyguard

And katie a sticky is kinda like a post it note....it keeps this thread at the top reguardless of posting. Once its on the top of the forums only the Mods can take the sticky off

11-24-2008, 07:26 AM
Would like to come and meet you people and put some faces to names. Like "Killer Katie". (love that name)

If I'm welcome, then count me in.

It would be great to have you come Jim! This isn't an exclusive club or anything, just a family of haunt enthusiasts. ;)

11-24-2008, 08:53 AM
How about this for a spot:

Seems like it's fairly close to the convention center and all nearby hotels!

Input needed! Thanks. -Tyler

This whole deal sounds wonderful too me. After a few years off from my haunt, this will make a good motivator to get things going again.

I'll keep an eye out, "opps, droped it," for where everyone decides to meet.

Time, day and address please.
I'll Garmit it.

Everyone have a wonderful Thank Giving

I can check with our group and see if they'd like to meet-up. Sounds fun, though!

Alright! Sounds like it's on!
Tater - thanks for the info on a "sticky"... I should have known!
And yes, I'll be your bodyguard... all 5'4 of me! LOL But I do have some serious pythons!!! LMAO
Jim - I'm afraid my looks don't match up to my "killer". I'm like a evil M&M, sweet on the outside, twisted on the inside. Not sure about the melts part.... I'll just let that be!

Mr Nightmarez

Normally the local bar serves as the normal haunt hang out! lol EVERY NIGHT!

But this sounds interesting. If our team heads into St. Louis - we will add that to the agenda.

"Matching up faces with names?"
How about matching up faces with my butt!? hahahahahahahaha!
Kind of a softer, gentler replacement for fisticuffs! (Butt possibly much deadlier!)
Sorry , couldn't resist.
"Got a match?"
"Sure your face with my butt!"...first seen inscribed inside the Great Pyramid, right next to the public rest room.
Today March sounds Sooooo Far away........

But if we all began marching right now..

11-27-2008, 05:49 PM
Sounds good, I'll bring it up and see what everyone says, thats surff & turff and a open bar at larrys house right.lol. I think someplace within walking distance to the convention center would be best but throw some ideas out.

Killer Katie

jim - "butt" is much more psychological than fisticuffs.... I love it!

Physical abuse can scab over and heal, bad experiences scar more deeply-the MIND!
(The mind is where we store those memories of aromas, need I say any more?)
Mental pictures of aromas don't fade very quickly.

Count me in. My brother and wife was with me at the pizza joint back in 07, and it was a pretty good time. Not sure if my brother will make it, but count us in!

Here's a pic from last time, can't wait to see everyone again. This year I will be working at the show, so it should be a totally different experience than the previous years!

It'll be great to see you again and get caught up on haunt talk!

11-29-2008, 11:23 AM
Im In. Always up for some good food and company

11-29-2008, 12:39 PM
Count me in as well!

11-29-2008, 01:10 PM
Joel, which one were you again in that pic? I cant remember. Im at the far end, sitting at the head of the table.

11-29-2008, 01:11 PM
And Tyler, that restaurant that you recommended looks good to me!

I guess as long as its close to the convention center would work for me.

I dont think it will be as near good as that pizza in Chicago, but I bet it would be good!

Killer Katie
11-29-2008, 01:46 PM
I think we sat at that same table at that kick ass pizza place in Chicago...*sigh*
What kind of grub is indiginous to Wisconsin?? :)

It's shaping up to be quite the party! I'll go wherever everyone decides to go. I can find something to eat anywhere! LOL It would be nice to meet at a place that also has a full bar! ;)

11-29-2008, 05:37 PM
Would there be a reserve spot for us at the meeting place? Room or a couple large tables. Just wondering how these things worked before and if someone will arrainge that.

Wouldn't want Killer Katie angry if there was no room for everyone.
With that name I'd be concern!

Just kidding of corpse, Still just love that name.

Jim @ Colwoood Ent.

11-30-2008, 03:36 PM
So, now we have a possible MINIMUM of 32 people! This is awesome!

Now, for a group this size, will we need to get a decent size space? I'm thinking no public restaurant would take a group this big without charging us for space! hahahaha... any ideas? -Tyler

Killer Katie
11-30-2008, 08:34 PM
Is there a space at the hotel itself? Like a lobby? We may not needx food, it could be a social drink type event, maybe outside the bar? Just a thought,m have no idea if that's even an option! And I don't think they will kick us out for loitering!

12-01-2008, 05:07 AM
That sounds like a good idea. I wonder what they would charge, "if we had too",
for a room with refreshments and maybe pizza or something. Split up the cost and maybe it would be feasable.
I may call them tonight for the hell of it and ask them.

12-01-2008, 08:25 AM
Que line area at the Darkness maybe? Have food ordered in. Byob? LOL! Just a thought?

12-01-2008, 08:42 AM
That'd be kinda cool... but doubt it would happen... why?

Thurs.-Light's on Darkness Tour
Fri.-HHA Meeting
Sat.-Darkness Performance

I like the idea of using a small room at the hotel! I'm sure if we split up the cost, it could be very reasonable! -Tyler

12-01-2008, 09:19 AM
How about Larry's place? LOL

12-01-2008, 09:23 AM
Now I heard that there is a curtain part in St.Louis now I could be wrong about this. But I heard you have to be careful in which parts you go because there are bad parts "meaning high crime areas" So we probably should be careful where we pick. If this is true.

12-01-2008, 10:08 AM
Seeing as how st louis was rated the nations 2nd most dangerous city I would assume what you've heArd is correct.

12-01-2008, 10:11 AM
Friday night after the HHA meeting?

Where is that meeting held? Could our meet place be there?

Larry, if you read this what do you think? being you live there.

Really would like to see this thing work.

Jim @ Colwood

12-01-2008, 09:54 PM
I was watching the best of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and they were talking about Saint Louis and had a BBQ rest on it...but for the life of me i cant remember what it was called maybe Steel City...Larry help me on this..it seemed like a cool place to meet up and eat...Used scrap as the grills and stuff

Killer Katie
12-02-2008, 10:59 PM
I want to vote for a safe place... I would love to meet you all, but would like to still have my purse and no bullets holes in me. :)

12-03-2008, 12:23 PM
Well shoot katie you are no fun...You know you only live once

damon carson
12-03-2008, 12:29 PM
Hey I heard that St. louis is only the 5th most dangerous city in the United States. Besides Larry can pick up everyone in his bullet proof hearse. LOL!

12-03-2008, 01:22 PM
^ That's EAST St. Louis... across the river... it's like a totally different city! No worries! -Tyler

12-04-2008, 05:04 AM
Why not let Killer Katie take the point?

She can be our protector.
