I think mostly everyone is going, so make us all some cool stuff.
Also, it would be a lot more enjoyable reading your posts if they weren't laced with so much profanity....Just a thought!

Going for sure, looking forward to it, what's the best barbeque nearest the convention center?
12-31-2008, 08:11 AM
I have heard there are tons of bars and places to eat all within walking or close proximity.
Can you confirm this?
12-31-2008, 08:37 AM
This is a must see show. This show may be one of the best if not the best Haunt show of all. With the amount of vendors saying they are coming. And with the Darkness tour and being in St. Louis, and the weather for the end of March its gonna be great! See ya there.
12-31-2008, 10:12 AM
Like there will be plenty of room LMAO I just checked the pole and right now 18 are going and 3 are not going! Come on people vote we need to see at least 25 people attend. Shane and its I have not voted Shane yet!
12-31-2008, 10:17 AM
We'll be there. It's a pretty easy drive from the Nashville area.
12-31-2008, 01:36 PM
The convention center is located on a street called Washington Street and on this street there is everything from a bowling alley, to major night clubs, and tons of places to eat. Also not far away is a place called Union Station which is filled with everything from Hard Rock to you name it.
Around the corner from the convention center is Market Street same street Union Station is on and it also has a TGI Fridays, and other places like this. Across the street from the convention center is a major brand new 500 million dollar casino and hotel and they have all by themselves 5 or 6 places to eat.
Next door to the Casino is another tourist place called Lacledes Landing and that has bars and places to eat as well plus a WAX MUSEUM!
Here is the bottom line and I"m not just saying this...
St. Louis is not my favorite city in the World, I love Denver, Orlando, and all sorts of other places. St. Louis is on the other hand the most central located city in America its FAIR for everyone!
Haunters love to DRIVE and you can't pick a better city than ST LOUIS FOR THIS EVENT... it fits the haunters needs!
Now with that said I will go on file here and tell you I think Rosemont is the worst place I can imagine for conventions I really hate that place, there is nothing to do, everything is too expensive, and its just boring. How does St. Louis compare not even close... you will enjoy the area around the convention center there are many things to do and see.
Our ZOO is rated the best in America by Zagot and its FREE, our sceince museums top ten in the nation and its free, art gallery free, everything is like free around here... haunters should love it !!! LOL
Places to eat compared to Rosemont ummm like 50 to 1 places! Things to do umm like 100 to 1. You'll love it... and its NOT windy here! LOL
12-31-2008, 03:03 PM
Wasnt the old Terror Visions on Washington st? I think it was cause I know I remember seeing the convention center and clubs ect down in that area.

The St. Louis Zoo is a great zoo. Its one of the few zoos in America that has free admission. Again its a great zoo. However the AZA (Association of Zoos and Aquariums) has the St. Louis zoo rated at 28 in the United States. The top few are Disneys Animal Kingdom ( no one has their budget) Washington Zoo and Atlanta zoo ( I am sure Bens been there a few times) just to name a few also the Columbus zoo in Ohio is another. As a private breeder of exotic animals for over 20 years I am very up todate on the rankings. Also its cost $35,000 per year to be a member ( I am not because I am a private breeder and would not pay that fee anyway lol). Although they look down on privite owners I have actually taught a class on capture of big cats. Jack Hanna was there too but he don't know his ass from a hole in the ground!!! Just a little FYI. Shane and again its a great zoo and its free Shane this time.

Damon your right Terror Visions was located on Washington. Larry bought them out several years ago. The last time I was by there it was a church. The area has been converted into condos and clubs. Washington has become a place to be in STL. Larry's right. The restaraunts and entertainment around the convention center are top notch. Also a cool thing to go to is the childrens Museum. Haunters will get a kick out of looking at all the recycled stuff they have turned into their museum. It's also on Washington but it's one of the things downtown that are not free. There are many things to do in STL. Come to STL and have a great time!

By the way Steve, if you do go, I'll be tracking you down. Are you guys going to be providing any prosthethic appliances to the industry this year? Here's hoping! Thanks!
Edited to change the message to Steve, oops!

I wish I didn't have to post this but.....
First off I'd like to say I don't care for such use of foul language to get a point across on what is supposed to be a message board for professionals. It speaks of an inadequate vocabularly to resort to it. Why its allowed, I'll never know. But what do I know.
Screamline is not attending the St. Louis show as vendors this year, but it strickly a business decision and nothing against Transworld. That is/was my understanding. It is simply too expensive for our current product line. We do plan on attending MHC and some smaller shows.
Perhaps some of our products will be represented by another vendor that is attending. We will have to see how that pans out.
Lastly, just a heads up - our website is down for maintenance right now and hopefully should be up soon. Once it is, our products will continue to be available at any time.
01-01-2009, 06:27 PM
I think you are making a mistake about not attending this years show...it takes money to make money. You can't get much cheaper than $1200 for a booth and a short drive for you. You will not find more qualified buyers in one place than this years show.
Again it takes money to make money.
I hope you change your mind.
01-01-2009, 06:40 PM
I agree, and I wish it was just $1200, but with Hotels, food, entertainment, extra expenses it adds up well more than our budget can allow. I (we) will be there, just not as vendors. Like I said, it is just a business decision.
Thanks though, it's nice to be wanted. :-)

I'm particularly fond of Denver myself :), what's your reasons? are you a skier?
But back to my original question. It's good to hear there are a lot of dining choices close by, but what I'm looking for is a great authentic St. Louis style barbeque joint. Please tell me there's something realatively close by, any recommendations?
Our crew seems to have an affinity for barbeque, and although Denver in my opinion has got to be one of the best cities in the country, it's not really know for it gastronomical delights or good barbeque.
But then again, I'll be on the slopes in Vail tomorrow morning, I guess there has to be sacrifices in life ;)

Virgil Music will NOT be at TW vending.
I may be there with another vendor but we simply cannot
afford to gamble on an unknown.
TW would take our entire tradeshow budget with a questionable
I'd prefer to wait things out and see what happens.
We will be at MHC, IS and a few yet-to-be-name events.

Larry......no personal attack fists down please....
Why the hell do you rip on Chicago so bad?
Rosemont this or Rosemont that.
It's TW that picks Rosemont.....Rosemont? I have lived here for 39 years and only go to Rosemont for 2 things....The TW show....and MAYBE the Allstate arena for concerts and crap.
You have been a true salesman on the whole move to St Louis.......way to go!
Larry.......have you ever had a good time here in Chicago or the surrounding areas?
Actually thought about moving a few times.....then I started to think of what Chicago does have to offer.
I wouldn't leave for the world!!!!
01-02-2009, 11:49 AM
I like Chicago, but Rosemont is NOT Chicago. True?
I never liked Rosemont and I was just up there again for a Godzilla convention for my son last summer. There is nothing to do, no place to eat, its simply toll bridges and hotels. Well and it was almost always cold as hell and so windy it was unreal.
Now Chicago itself is cool I've been to several museums, I've watched a game at Wrigley, and I've seen the Bulls plays plus a Madonna concert there. I still wouldn't like a tradeshow even in Chicago unless it was flat out spring or summer...its just too damn cold up there.
But I DO LIKE CHICAGO...cool place! When they pick up Rosemont and phsyically move it to Chicago next to lots of places to eat away from those toll roads let me know. LOL

I've been to Denver many times that is just one awesome city! I wouldn't mind moving there its just so clean and cozy! Now I wouldn't want to open a haunt there because of the bad weather you guys get in October that must make it tough, something I wouldn't want to deal with but the city itself is awesome!
My favorite city for tradeshows is Orlando, because there is a zillion hotels, you do not have to use union labor, so many places to eat and things to do and its warm. Orlando is tops on my list.
01-02-2009, 12:55 PM
Orlando is my favorite too!
01-02-2009, 05:39 PM
Hangs head in disgust
01-02-2009, 09:29 PM
Hey now, we all know Larry likes to dress up like Madonna and dance around his haunt when no one is around. LOL, actually I saw Madonna back in about 1985. She was hot back then!!
01-03-2009, 10:08 AM
Couldn't agree with you more on Denver, I'm originally from New York, so yes, it's easy to see that Denver is a clean city, with for the most part friendly people.
My father, who still lives in New York, always has funny things to say about Denver when he visits. Like when he goes into a convenience store and the clerk asks how his day is going, he's always like, why do you care?
But yes, the weather, although we get a lot of sunshine, can sometimes create problems.
But you forgot to answer my most important question, where are we supposed to go for the best St. Louis style BBQ?!!!!!!!!!!!
Please let us know!
01-03-2009, 12:37 PM
THIS is the best BBQ I had in St.Louis...*drool*
01-03-2009, 01:54 PM
I ate at a really good K.C. Barbeque in St. Louis once. But I dont think that would qualify as a St. Louis style Bar-b-Q would it! LOL! If you want some excellent food though I would suggest Lemp Mansion. And not to mention the atmosphere its a real haunted B&B. If you've never been there you've got to go!
01-03-2009, 10:43 PM
Thanks Banshee for the recommendation.
So far I'm hearing Bandana's and Smokey Bones.
Larry, or anyone in the area, are either of these anywhere close to the convention area?
01-03-2009, 11:11 PM
Off Topic -
Can you guys at Screamline ship latex now or will it freeze?
Is your site back up? What is a good way to reach you ..
BTW I was working on Photos and thought off you guys... Check out the hammer and spear..
Hey Kevin notice the other weapons!
And some SPFX and CFX goodness...
01-04-2009, 12:08 AM
Hey Ben, that's a killer picture with some awesome characters and costumes as always! In the picture, are the walls vacuumed formed walls or are they homemade? They look awesome.
01-04-2009, 01:57 AM
Ben - sent you a PM
Picture looks great!! Thanks for sharing!
01-04-2009, 08:37 AM
Those were custom vauformed by a theatre company for us years ago. Over the door that is an EX Mortis vacuform. Also in this room are lots of unique hand made panels and the rubber bone wall where our bone character pops out. I think Scareparts is going to do full skull walls soon, I am looking forward to that!
01-05-2009, 09:39 AM
Sarcasim doesn't come across in these forums too well?
Larry, Within 5-10 minutes from ROSEMONT there is plenty to do.
Once again it isn't us the customers who chose where we want to go....it is TW that decides.
I assume they listened to you......since we are going to St Louis this year.
I am sure that you didn't tell TW to have the show in Rhode Island....no you suggested St Louis.
Soooooo if and when you talk to TW......mention that you don't like Rosemont for us all?
01-05-2009, 12:26 PM
Going back up to the food comments...not to distract you from Ken's post
But Smokey Bones is a chain resturant..I have two around my house and they dont ever seem that busy. I suggested on another forum that Iron Barley. The were on the Diner, Drive-In's and Dives show and it all looked really good...and they even had BBQ
01-05-2009, 05:04 PM
LMAO!! Man you are truly a member of the straight shooters club!!!!! Glad to have ya! Shane
