Once again Priceline.com is the best bet for nice hotels at very cheap prices. I have not reserved a hotel for MHC or Hauntcon, but currently this is how cheap you can get a hotel on priceline.com for if you bid. Just like with Transworld you can't beat these prices anywhere.

Please note: You don't have to go this route. I'm just posting the cheapest prices I've found on priceline.com. It doesn't mean you are going to get the hotel that you want and it may be miles from the convention. I don't know since I haven't reserved a hotel.

MHC Hotels: $27 a night plus taxes and fees
On Priceline.com go to the bid section and type in Columbus, OH for City, make it for downtown Columbus , a 4 star deluxe hotel and bid $27. The total price after Taxes and Service Fees will be $38.60. I'm not sure if it will be the host hotel or not, but either way it's going to be downtown.

Hauntcon Hotels: $39 a night plus taxes and fees
On priceline.com go to the bid section and type in Milwaukee, WI for city, make it for whatever area you want (close to airport, downtown, or whatever), a 4 star deluxe hotel and bid $39. The total price after Taxes and Service Fees will be $51.85. I'm not sure what hotel it's going to be, but either way it's going to be cheap .

This is my home town area where I grew up. Hauntcon is NOT downtown, it is across the street from the airport. My brother lives less than two miles away.

Calm down people. I'm just posting the deals you can find on Priceline.com. I'm not trying to insult anyone. My God people are sensitive over things. I said that I don't know if it's the host hotel or not. It's probably not, but either way it's a good deal for MHC and Hauntcon if you are trying to save some money and willing to drive a little more to save that money. Hell, I would be willing to drive a little more from the conventions to save that money, but that's just me.

Not getting upset, just wanted to make sure people that try it for Milwaukke realize the Hauntcon is not downtown. There is a casino and the Harley Davidson Museum near downtown though.

The reason I posed downtown at first is because Priceline.com doesn't have a choice for an area close to the airport when you bid.

Priceline does have a choice for the area close to the airport in Milwaukee. It's option #6...South Milwaukee. I got a deal for $50/nite at a 3 1/2 star hotel located 3 short miles from the HauntCon hotel!

The show floor closes at 5 pm and the Feargrounds tour is at 8 pm. That leaves 3 hours for dinner and traveling. There is a place in Milwaukee that is very unique, it is called the Safehouse. http://www.safe-house.com/

I heard about it before I moved away from the area but have never been there. Most times you have to know the password to get in, or you have to do something embarrassing before they let you enter. Heard bathroom used to have a trick in it that turned on a microphone that broadcast out into the bar.

It has been chosen as Milwaukee's top theme bar. They can take up to 250 people according to their website. The banquet menu looks good for groups. http://www.safe-house.com/banquet/menu.html

Wisconsin cookout would be a proper suggestion. This place has open bar by the hour prices if you schedule a real banquet. COOOL.

It is behind the storefroon of International Exports Ltd., 779 N. Front Street (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=safe+house,+Milwaukee+Wisconsin&ie=UTF8&z=11&iwloc=A&om=1), Milwaukee, WI 53202,

Here is a youtube of a couple having to endure the entry without a password. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szIjFkQ__IM

This is where I am going!

Who's in????? password will be: HAUNTCON

I didn't realize Hauntcon was so close on the heels of Transworld. Wow. Anyway check out the little zoo in Milwaukee while you are there. My wife made me take her to it an hour before it closed. I just ran through the zoo taking pictures of animals as fast as I could. I figured I could just put the pictures on the tv when I got home and enjoy the zoo that way instead of actually having the time to enjoy it while I was there. That was fun. Plus I got yelled at by my wife for taking to long to chase a squirell down to take a picture of it. And I lost my wallet in that hour. Fun trip.

Jolly, I took your advice, and went to Priceline for a cheap hotel for Hauntcon. I bid $39 for South Milwaukee or Downtown Milwaukee area and Captain Kirk got me into the Hyatt (reg $141 a night) for $46 including the taxes and fees! Thanks! Looking forward to meeting a lot of you!!! Pete
