Basic Information

Deadly Intentions Home Haunt started in 2000, as a front yard display my girlfriend Jodi and I did, and each year grew a little bigger. We started with Halloween type music dry ice and water for fog and 1 strobe light. The next year it was a few tombstones and nicer looking costumes. Then it was better music and a fog machine and one of our friends helped out. We out grew the front yard of our apartment so we bought a house with a good size yard. The first 2 years in our new house were hard because we had lots of space but nothing to fill it, so I tried my hand at building static props. First was my attempt was "Jason" form Friday the 13th holding a severed head. It looked like crap...."I thought" but it seemed to go over well with the T.O.T (trick or treaters). My second attempt was a toe pincher coffin, looked like every other one I've seen. Then my uncle Dave caught wind that we did a yard haunt and he wanted in, which lead to a few of his friends joining the fun. Talk about a bunch of guys that enjoy scaring the crap out of people, the best move I could of made. I had to start building props that would keep up to them. I tried my hand at pneumatics. My first prop was an electric chair, single cylinder with a push button to fire him, every time you wanted it to move you have to push the button, talk about a sore thumb by the end of the night. I met a local owner of the most terrifying haunted houses in the area and he introduced me to controllers (no more sore thumb for me) you just plug it in, tell it what to do and away it goes......."if you remember to hook up the trigger button... dumb ass". Three years into our new house I wanted to offer more of a scare so we bought a crap load of 2 x 4's and OSB and put up a 20' by 40' building in the back yard. We start putting the building up in Aug. and try to have it down the first or second week in Nov. Each year the inside maze is different, all the rooms are different, and most times the monsters are different. Each year I get more and more carried away on building props, trying to out build the things from the previous year, as well as making costumes...or trying to anyways. 2009 my wife and took the year off, we made a little monster of our own. 2010 we will be up and running again and we will unleash hell as DEADLY INTENTIONS Home Haunt presents "House of Damnation"
