    I'm kinda new at this

    Well 2010 will be my first year to have a haunt, so i'm not real familiar with it. It will be a haunted trail without much electricity we only have a few generators ssssoooo we are kinda lost on what we should do for light. We were wanting 2 include fire but we think too much might be a little dangerous. So my main question is whatt is a good way of lighting a trail without electricity?

    (PS I will take any suggestions for a newcomer thanx so much):-D

    What about

    Have you thought about the solare powered landscape lights? Not sure how many or if they would be able to give off enough light, but may be a good option. They last all night and can find failry inexpensive ones.

      I second that. Think of it. Not running extension cords in a daisy chain, water and the cords, actors possible tripping knocking out all the other lights and so on

        Good call that makes sense but the only problem with solar lights is they can be kinda expensive.

          12v landscaping lights could be an option. Wiring is very inexpensive compared to standard extension cords, weather isn't an issue with them so you won't be constantly tripping GFI's, they come in a myriad of design options (IMO the solar lights would kill any kind of "scene"), etc etc. Plus they can be had fairly inexpensively and depending on how many lights you go with, you can power them off of a single transformer or two.

            mini spot lights

            the 12 v mini spot lights are inexpensive, reliable, and weatherproof. we use them in our woods in indy. they work in wind, rain, cold, etc. and you can run 20+ lights off one outlet and no extesion cord.

              I recommend LED lighting as well, I wont recommend a brand as there are a few companies who make them. I make my own myself and If you like I will send you info on making them (I have a doc from a class I taught). If you buy a $250 solar panel from Harbor freight and a nice car battery I bet you could run a whole set up for nothing but start up cost. You can also run the LEDs high up and the cable I use is speaker wire so it can run from tree to tree easy. I run anywhere from 5 to 50 LEDs /plug.
              I use the LEDs on my trail now and it solved a ton of power issues we had. Im adding a solar panel to my monster museum this faire season and i will work out the bugs on that and get it on a battery So It can run my haunt lights.

                You can find the solar shop lights and landscaping lights at harbor freight for pretty cheap. It might be a good alternative.

                  I also recommend LED lighting, very low power. My company darklight.e5design.com produces weather resistant LEDs and power supplies. One power supply can run up to 120 of the small LEDs, which is only a TOTAL of 30Watts... for 120 lights.
