Pete, one of the most important things to remember is UNLESS YOUR KNOW how to use what's in that kit correctly, you could cause much more harm than good. Here in CT we have to have medics on-scene if were indoors. I was originally certified in general first aid and CPR when I was getting my lifeguard certs, then upgraded to first responder, and now EMT, soon to go to paramedic. If you have more advanced equipment that you are unsure of how to use appropriately, DO NOT HAVE IT in your kit, you could end up causing more harm than good. However, as long as you obtain consent and do not cause further harm, you will be protected under your states "Good Citizen" law. Every state has one, or something like it.

As for what to have, for someone who has no emergency medical knowledge, go to Wal-Mart and get the nicest one they have, and some single use ice packs. If you or one of your staff have proper knowledge on the use of emergency medical equipment, google "First Responder Jump Kits" a whole ton of stuff will pop up. Select the one that you can afford (some bags alone can run a couple hundred dollars) and order it. If you or your staff is certified in the use of O2 administration, and ONLY if you're certified or they are, keep an O2 tank on hand for those anxiety attacks. O2 is a drug and can be just as lethal as morphine or pain killers if used the wrong way. 15lpm via nonrebreather mask. It'd be in your best interest to have an NREMT on staff, they are nationally registered emts who (altho follow Local protocols) are trained equally nation wide and will be a huge asset to your team.

I will have an EMT on site everyday and/or an off duty officer. I didn’t know if someone had something weird to add from their experience. I would never have anyone do anything to anyone unless they were professionally trained.

No problem Pete! That EMT than should have their own preference, however if you want to have one that stays at the haunt for WHOEVER it is that is working, here are a few ones that basic level EMT's are qualified to use: (would have done this sooner but i was on my phone and it would have been a huge pain)

This is the web-page that has the basic things, you should have a BP cuff, stethoscope, ice packs, LOTS of gloves, and a face mask (aka a CPR mask)

Having these on-site and claimed as yours is definitely a huge advantage, and something you will definitely feel safer having. Galls is a reliable medical supplier known throughout the industry as a top dog. I like their customer service and if you call them, I'm sure one of their people would gladly talk to you and help you out and narrow down a few specific items for you. Check with your insurance too, to see if this will lower your price, most insurance agencies will discount you if you have an on-scene medic with proper supplies.
