  • Keepimg Out Crashers!!!

Hey everyone does anyone have any tips on how we can keep out a person. The story is that a kid that every year comes into our haunt, messes up something or breakes something. He even ran through the tarp where is had no hole and it fell down. By the end of the haunt last year we had 4 broken props not including the tarp. So please any help!!
    Thanks,
    The Screamatorium

I don't know how old this kid is, but you could tell him that he's not allowed without a parent or guardian. You could also tell him and the parent or guardian ahead of time this year that anything he breaks, he must pay to replace, or post a sign to that affect, or make him sign a waiver to that affect before letting him enter. That may discourage him from even entering.

Well this kid is about 16 and he is always walking around with his skater friends smoking and even tearing up peoples yards year around. But on halloween he is always walking by himself and two friends.

How about posting a scary looking security guard in uniform out front who tells him that he and his friends are not welcome, and if he still insists on coming in, let that guy tell him before he enters that he will be paying for all that he harms or breaks?

I dont know an exact answer to your question, but a few years ago I had a kid who did the same thing...we had police there directing traffic and they took care of him real fast. the only think was he would go through with a different mask everytime and it was hard to tell who it was...

The waiver idea sounds good, keep your eyes peeled this halloween!

No Masks should be one of your rules, for safety (visibility and tripping) if nothing else.

This is just the beginning of an idea and you can work on it to make it fit your needs, but what if you told him that no kids are allowed without a parent or guardian, and if he got upset about that, you could tell him (or have the security guard tell him) that if he's too old not to need a parent or guardian with him, then he's too old to be out trick-or-treating (and doing destructive things to other people's haunts). You could have a sign posted somewhere out of the way to show him, but only enforce it for undesirables, perhaps? Sorry, but I'm new to this, so I'm just sort of thinking out loud. Maybe others can help with this.

I saw just post a sign that says "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone."

Then when he shows up in line tell him, nope you may not go through we have had complaints on you in the past.

You do have the right to refuse entrance to anyone without explaining why. However to keep this kid from being a problem simply "escort" him and his friends thru the house ensuring they dont tear up your stuff. It sucks when patrons destroy what you work so hard to build but it does happen. We have security cameras in our haunt to watch for anything going on and radio our security to take care of the problem. I think the best thing to do would be to escort them. Then your not making anyone mad , just follow behind them and if they get out of hand have them removed.

Private property. If you don't want some on your property you have the right to make them leave. If they don't leave then it could be considered tresspassing.
Atleast that's how it works around here

There is no way in hell I would let that brat in the house!

Even if you have cameras and press charges and all that, you would *still*
                        get your stuff destroyed *again*.

And a personal escort through the haunt, just so *he* won't get pissed off??
No. You should NEVER have to put up with this behavior, much less
                        mollycoddle the little brat!

Shawnc's recommendation is good, in that people should have to leave
masks off. They're not going to want them while going through the
                        haunt, anyway.

If you notify the police beforehand, and give them the whole story, I'll
bet they'll be glad to help.

When the kid tries to get it, you refuse entry and tell the scumbag that
if he decides he'd like to cause trouble, that's fine because you have
already told the cops about him.

And if you do happen to have surveillance cameras, great! Use them.

Post a sign out front saying that all activity on the grounds are being monitored for security purposes. Regardless of wether or not you really are monitoring if you put a no mask rule into effect the threat of that kind of surveillance or force should be enough. I mean its helped to keep troubelsome youths out of my haunt.

                            ProblemChild!

A kid that is constantly getting himself hurt (for attention?) and is always in trouble or getting troubled by other kids beating on him(for usually very good reasons)
Such a kid came through my house one October and proceeded to kick every male employee he met in the nuttz! Just because he could! And was too small to punch out.
I told his Grandmother he was never allowed to come in here again. This worked.
It is a small town. Maybe that's why it worked?
I predicted more than just a few times that I would be very surprised if he ever lived to see his 18th birthday...then maybe they found the right tranqs. or something, he grew physically up and has seemed to have calmed down , become a more social person, in a normal way.
                            We all hope........

That reminds me of a time i went to a haunt with my nephew. ((Because hes a haunt freak...like me!)) and an actor scared him, and i dont know if it was out of reflex, perhaps our of fear? But he then proceeded to deliver a swift kick to the actors....danger zone hahahaha and i swear the actor clicked his fingers twice and these two samoan guards, they were HUGE i mean BIG guys came in and escorted us out of the haunt...it was pretty interesting...
