I WISH!!!! I've had the reoccurring haunters nightmare...the "our haunt isn't finished yet we're opening because it's show time!" nightmare...I've had it at least once a week for the past month but at least the show gets a little closer to actually being done each time I have the dream! haha

        Never enough time...

I don't think a season goes by that we do not sprint to the finish line for opening day. Would start planning and building in July and still the ideas keep coming backing us up till the very last hour. I have found a Haunt Journal that works best for me, by simply keeping organized what must get done, and that which can either wait till last minute, or not get put in the haunt. Best of luck to all fellow haunters...Happy Halloween!!

District of the Dead is 100% ready for this Halloween season (and our first pro season!). Did I mention our crew is also thrilled? ecstatic? nerve rattled? optimistic?

I'm shocked as to how our 5 man crew is organized so well. Not to mention how we managed to get the hang of building walls so fast, put the whole first half of attraction up (and finish it), and have just about half of the second half done already since we started work in our leased location August 1st. I've got a great team of close friends and family all just as passionate about launching our first season.

Now if we can just get the damn electric turned on in our building that would be great too.

Our location needed a bit of work, but we were supposed to have power a week ago. Now 3 weeks in building the entire attraction with one GENERATOR...the actual electricity will be turned on tomorrow. I've been patiently waiting to stay there until dark so we can test all the lighting, audio, etc. That's when the attraction will really come to life.

This is my 3rd season and I have yet to finish early yet. I will be ready to open the 16th weekend, but i am sure we will still have things to do all week after. It's always a mad dash to get open. Being outside, it's impossible for me to be early on props and decor
