[CODEhttp://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...31193292_n.jpg]
gotta love it when another haunt is using your photos to promote their haunt....
if it was easy to run a kick ass haunt..then all the haunts would kick ass...
https://www.livingsocial.com/events/...dmission-for-2
anyone know these guys ?? i am sending a cease letter..did larry have a haunt doing this ?
and their site has many of our pictures
[CODEhttp://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...cres/nurse.jpg]
Wow, just goes to show you how much creativity they have lol. That's the pic right of Haunt World's cover! We made a huge mistake partnering up with them back in 2010. Back then they were not a haunt, but just promoters. They saw how many people we brought in and wanted us to partner with them in 2011. We said we are going to stay on our own and will do the promotions ourselves. They got mad and started threatening us saying we better give them our website and our haunt name or they will do this to us and that. Last year we did get our outdoor facade vandalized. This year we gotten tighter security with surveillance cameras and actual undercover police walking around. We hope we can have a smooth 2012 season.
we just had the largest weekend in September ever....
just unbelievable large crowds...i mean really unbelievable ...we had to open up the back parking lots..soo 40 acres of parking all packed and its still September...
and they come from soo far away...
i spoke to a group that had drove up from Florida ...
they said they have come every year for the last 3 years....
and a group from Maryland..and Missouri
hope its the same for everybody else...just a great start to another great season...
[CODEhttp://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps99443f56.jpg]
How are all those giant heads working out for you?
seems this one couldn't handle the first weekend at 40 psi...haha..
another industry standard ...if your gonna be a haunter u better have a welder...
i didnt see this one coming..they looked well put together to me..looks like maybe a lil reinforcement should do the trick...
the other ones held up as far as i know....normally we can see problems with design or engineering and fix them before we start...
and we always let the vendor know our concerns for future designs.....
but this one got by us...
the problem we saw right off is those bearings being welded in...although that's not what broke..we have had problems with them in the past..and will be hard to remove when welded in..
but they held up so far....sorry brother kev but u asked...
as for the vendors that promised product in June and they still haven't arrived...save some shipping and send our thousands of dollars deposit back...
i know u get on here cause u pm'ed me and made more broken promises...honestly cant wait to see u guys again...
here is a tip from a guy who has been in this biz for a minute..buy a year in advance...that way you are not putting your reputation on the line or holding up your build because of a vendors integrity that is outta your control...
[CODEhttp://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps3f78c9b1.jpg]
soo i just got a private message from a chicken butt owner who is afraid of these guys at this ripp off haunt..
guess they have stolen their art too...and made threats ...and vandalized.....wtf is wrong with that picture ?
our lawyer is proceeding as we speak ...rerminds me of the story on the news of land of illusions owner stealin a competetors signs...
why the dirty pool ?...you r making us all look bad
this year we have been under a barrage of attacks from another haunt too...
a haunt that is clearly a spin off of the Hoochie...i'm flattered...
but really? there is only one haunted hoochie...and our reputation proceeds us
might need to do sum old fashioned skull spilttin...haha..sike
[CODEhttp://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...2655603_n2.jpg]
Actually they are put together very well.
We also weld in gussets in all the angles now.
And I really wish you would have emailed this to me when it happened. It helps us make constant improvements to our products. And that is the only way we can help you.
Which you know we always do.
40 psi is the proper operating procedure.
Did you make any adjustments to the flow control exhaust valves?
We set them at the proper operating speed. But somehow they adjust themselves in or out sometimes and other times the customer readjusts them.
So, please check the others. They do not need to move fast to look good. And this puts unneeded stress on the armatures.
Do you need us to send you any gussets or anything to make the repairs?
no way kevin..we got this one...i was readin the thread when toby came in the office and told me about the break..
i took the picture just prior to posting and now we r back up and running..
no gussets were there..but there are now..we r good..
looks like he was cathin some bones on the floor..probably had alot to do with it...
the fact is animations break...we know it going in..we break em..
and we fix them..nature of the beast
and we play rough...
get to the hooch...
hell never looked this good
[CODEhttp://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...pscc4bb676.jpg]
Awesome,
OUr business is not built on selling you something. It is built on servicing what we sell.
SO if you ever need anything please do not hesitate to ask.
We are ALL over this.
I would love to see some pics of your install of our beasts sometime
man i am soo sorry for this but...please dont go edit that..cause
seriously...your business is not built on sellin but servicing what u sell ???
heres a thought...
maybe all haunt vendors should build their business on selling product that doesn't need serviced....
[CODEhttp://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...psf542e26c.jpg]
LOL
I know what you are saying. BUT
What is sad is I try to be supportive and help you solve a problem, and here you are trying to twist my words and intent.
So no thanks.
Im out.
But again, if you need anything, please just let us know.
Kevin..
i knew thats how u would feel..sorry...some conversations aren't for a forum..
and are easily misinterpreted...and i am a sarcastic ass..me admitting that doesn't solve it..
but to me... what u said was funny
i know u are an upstanding member of this community and dont run from problems..
like some other vendors do..
the thing about building animatronics
is its a learning curve..hence gussets have been added..i am not sore in the slightest..
i have spent 35 grand on animations and welded on them every single weekend all season long..
and even in that situation..i understand that some things just cant be figured out til its in operation and taking on abuse..
i looked at those heads before they were installed and looked built like brick out houses...
i hope no hard feelings.....i know u stand behind your product...just like all passionate people do..
again sorry for the sarcasm
on another note..this post has 10,666 views...must be a sign
Thank you!
I so very much appreciate you seeing that we do build animatronics and giant costumes to take a beating, and knowing I and my company are here for the long haul.
thank you for basically posting for me, what I was going to respond with.
But I decided to take the high road and not respond with hurt feelings and say something I would regret.
Sadly, it is just so hard to see the intent or humor in writing.
But like I said, I do get where you are coming from.
I can't speak for vendors in general, but we build everything the best we think they can be built.
And like you said, we also improve as we go, so we now add gussets at all the joints.
thanks again,
last night was soo cold and never stopped rainin...
but yet we were absolutely packed ..
and our parking lot filled with cars from every state around..
this year is amazing and soo are all the hoochie fans..
thanks form coming
and kevin..just let them know at will call u r here....they have vip tix waiting for u
[CODEhttp://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...37800669_n.jpg]
I just have to say I went to the Hoochie on Sat. And I was blown away.
There queueline is huge because it has to be. I bet there were an easy 500 people in line. We hung out and talked with the crew till about 1am, and the line stayed that way all night long
So they had to have run 2000 that night alone.
The level of detail is over the top. Tim and his crew do not build things like a theatrical set so it "LOOKS" real.
They build them and they are real. what I mean is if you see a rock wall, it is not vacuform. It is a REAL rock wall. And that is how they do everything.
And the sets were very cohesive.
You can tell the actor's love it. Lots of high energy. and they read the customer. And would respond based on that read.
Of course it is all very over the top.
If you get a chance, you should check it out. You won't be disappointed.
Thanks TIM,
I really appreciate the hoochie treatment.
Kevin....thank you sir..
would u believe we did over twice that...4400 and to me it never seemed that busy
but still great for soo early in the year...
we closed at 3 am and cars were still pullin in after the sign was off..
just an absolute blast off this season..
and we cut way down on advertising...
build a kick ass haunt n they will come...
thank u so much for coming out...i really do appreciate it..
nothin i like to do more then show off all our hard work to someone who truly cares about this industry
thanks again
if the hooch is on your bucket list..i suggest u get it done this year..
unholy as it is
[CODEhttp://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps4df16fdd.jpg]
[CODEhttp://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps8ce2ecf4.jpg]
looks like a haunted hoochie add...but look close..its for land of illusion
seems to be a trend lately of using the haunted hoochie brand to help sell another haunt...
already talked to this owner about this issue and he took down the google adds...but still running them on yahoo...jeez
i know all these adds have to be approved..but he blamed it on reach local...more cease n desist letters
im flattered
[CODEhttp://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps3270263d.jpg]
Voice isnt going to make it but I will be there to atleast go through for ya. Seems like I remember something like this happening with this guy before
its a beautiful Thursday night at the hoochie
[CODEhttp://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps96c30315.jpg]
THAT CROWD ON A THURSDAY NIGHT? THATS INSANE!
If you look really close you can see me somewhere in that madness.
one thing is for sure...
the hooch draws a crowd...and from all around the country..
i owe alot of that to ben armstrong..and larry kirtchner..
those guys r working hard for all of us...
each time they do a show on tv..or post a top list...that spreads out across this country...on national outlets everywhere
it sells tickets for us all...
the iron is hot this year..
we have had the largest weekends ever...
and we have always had tremendous crowds...
but seriously...this year is absolutley insane...
btw
we provide a show like no other ...its agressive ...and splatacular...and the most scenic haunt in America today...and that sells
i talk to people coming from over 20 hours away...
people plan their vacations to come here...
i am extremely lucky...to have the worlds most extreme haunt....thank u all
we were sure raisin hell at the hooch last night...
the guy on the right of this pic hit me doin 50 mph...
n they never stopped running..enjoy
[CODEhttp://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps54918e59.jpg]
The Land of Illusion seem to really like playing dirty tricks.
Last year I was to meet a friend at the Dent Schoolhouse. He googled "Dent Schoolhouse Address" and plugged the first result into his GPS. Guess where he ended up?
The Land of Illusion.
I haven't been back there since they got caught swiping competitors signs a few years ago.
Tim,
I think this is one of the best customer reactions pics of ALL time. It makes me laugh every time.
Kevin..
i thought the exact same thing...and thought that haunted house owners would enjoy it.....grrrr

[CODEhttp://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...psb5e5e63f.jpg]
We had a blast Saturday night. Thanks for taking a minute or two to say hi. You guys were swamped, thats for sure. I have never seen a VIP line that long Let along the GA line. There must have been every bit of 5-6000 people there when we talked to you. Love all the updates, you guys out do yourself every year. Like I said Saturday night, I had just gone to the 13th Gate down in Lousiana on Thursday night and your haunt blows them out of the water. Thanks for such a great time. We will be back next year for round 4.
well now that is one hell of a review....always love to hear the Hooch blows away one of the highest rated haunts in america today....
thank u very much
u r most correct sir.....we definitely deliver
and it was absolutely one hell of a crowd too...
i have never seen a VIP line a half mile long either...we didnt close til 4 am...and after they closed the gates...more cars wanted to pull in...
sorry i couldn't hang out longer...i wanted to show u the bar upstairs..and some other goodies...
maybe come on a thursday next time...
if anyone wants to see the largest lines in this biz...come out this sat....u cant fit it into a picture..
just dont try to get here around nine...cause the state highway turns into a tailgate party...
people now talk about how long the wait is....just to pull into our parking lot....
everyone want to raise hell at the hooch
[CODEhttp://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...s/_DSC0096.jpg]
The state highway def. backs up I think we sat there in traffic for a good 15 mins. It was about a mile back up. I know the time it took to buy our VIP tickets (about 10 mins) the parking lot where we parked was already half full and we were in the very front of it. Car after car pulled in none stop, I am surprised you didn't run out of parking. Thats a problem that any haunt would love to have, if they had the size lots you have.
No problem about not getting to see behind the scenes. You guys were swamped I completely understand. I think a lot had to do with the nice weather.
Just one suggestion, with the amount of rain you guys normally get in October. You might want to fill in the area in the VIP line that was a giant puddle Saturday night. It might allow for the VIP line to have a small Que area instead of being a straight line way out into the parking lot and across the path of traffic on the nights where it gets that long. You guys did do a good job with security at the traffic crossing though so Kudos for that.
