ok i'm a really big fan of BIG SCREAM TV... they have a volume that is just crystal balls.... they use an upside down gold fish bowl w/ some gold metalically cloth wrapped around it. check out...

i ended up using an electric drill w/ the dremel cutting wheel.... the drill could handel the extra friction better than the dremel... i hope this helps anybody else
