Yup, good show. I especially liked the speed seminars. Good format, good price, good info.

No kids, I think that's a bad idea. Keep it business focused.
Maybe 15 & up, tho, mayhaps...
I don't think I'd go if there was a $50 pp fee, if the seminars are also the cost they were.
What I consider acceptable is a $50-100 pp if it includes a couple seminars.
I really liked 'em both, for different reasons, and because they were different styles: City haunt / country haunt. As a patron, if I had the time and money for both, I'd go to both; if I had to...
I didn't run into minimums either. Even Morris dropped their usual 500 minimum.
Oh well, too bad for that vendor, they lost sales, and I hope they will learn.
From the gang at the Haunted Mines, we thank y'all too for opening your haunts and hosting us. We enjoyed them both tremendously! I especially liked the contrast between them: A city haunt and a...
I liked that you kept to a quick-pace schedule and didn't drone on. You all hit the highlights, kept it relevant. It's good to see the outreach to startup haunts. I think the HHA will do well!
Hi Larry -
No worries, I thought it was great and really appreciated you opening up your haunt like you did. We all understand tech problems and actor problems and whatnot, it comes with the...
I spoke with many vendors late Saturday and all but one (puppet guy) were very happy with the results. Most had fat invoice books to show off. Overall the mood was very upbeat.
Oh, and I really...
@daemon, @oakhills...
I took us about five days to build the sawmill, spread out over a couple weekends. Add another day to make the waterwheel -it actually turns under water power.
But alas,...
I listened to some of your demos - quite a variety, good stuff.
OK, here's something I've wanted but not found: I call it Dark Anticipation. Ya know how in those upscale theme parks (Disney,...
We're considering Timed Ticketing too this year, or possibly the "Now serving..." model. Or a mix of all three. We don't quite know.
We're very interested in knowing more about the pro's and...
We've used it in years past with good results. We skipped it last year due to us not having our act together in time. A lot of people complained about not having online sales, but they still showed...
We just chalk it up to the cost of doing business. All our actors/staff are volunteers so a "you break it, you buy it" policy doesn't apply. Many actors are teens and that comes with the territory....

We do 100% to charity; every cent after receipted construction material expenses. We also allow a second charity (March of Dimes for the past few years) if people want to donate a buck or two of...
Looks like the opening of your new Swamp themed haunt!
For the non-bending bars we've used EMT conduit - that cheap metal conduit you get a home depot etc. Paint it blank, it clangs like metal 'cuz it is. You can also charge 'em with a battery charger...
We put down pallets (the stronger oak ones, not pine) to make a walkway in wet /muddy areas. Fill in the gaps with slats from other pallets - but not entirely, leave a little space for the rain to...
The original behind-the-scenes tour is sold out ($125).
Larry added a second 10pm (9?) one, it's also sold out ($100).
He just added a third 11pm tour ($100). I think tix are still available.
See...
Oh great prognosticator, tell me... will I ever find my sticky eyeballs?
A spreadsheet (OpenOffice, etc).
Hard part is making folks stick to it (myself included).
TW is bad for budgets.
Sigh...
We do a mining theme. Inside we made a big saw from two sheets of OSB, gives us four 4' diameter blades that spin, cutting a body of course (how original!). This pic doesn't show much but the...
We use the address of the haunt.
Hey Ben et al...
I gotta ask! We're a charity haunt and have been in the charity haunt business for a long time. We give 100% - every penny - of profit to our charities. No one makes a cent off...
