Hmm the video seemed rather one sided and maybe taken out of context. plus there are no examples of the false advertisement for people to draw their own conclusion. I live in the bible belt and hell houses and judgment journey are pretty common but I have never seen them advertised as a non religious thing. also looking at the background of the video it looked like a church. so this looks more like a group of people trying to stir up trouble more than any kind of expose on a church committing fraud. This seems to be the problem with the net these days you can search and find so much stuff and a ton of it is propaganda from all sides.
in my opinion they can try to scare all the people they want to salvation but the truth is it has to be a choice not made under any duress an acceptance brought about by your own mind and heart. If it is not then it is just a paper thin mask that will tear away swiftly.
I really wished they guy who did the blog piece would have shown more hard facts.

Yeah, I really can't buy into what the guy who did this video is selling. There aren't any facts to back up his claims. Down here in Texas we have a lot of these Hell Houses - including one of the original ones.

I've seen the documentary film about the original "Hell House" and actually found it quite fascinating. I don't find what they do to be in any way deceptive. If anyone goes to one of these 'haunts' and doesn't know what to expect... well then they didn't do their homework.

As for churches offering this alternative to a 'haunted house', I have no problem with them doing so. Generally they do not hide the type of show they are offering and most people know going in what they can expect as far as the church's wanting to 'save them.' And to be honest, if one person is made to think about their life's choices and they either quit or turn away from bad influences (drugs, alcohol - more than moderate use, teen or pre-teen sex, etc...) then I say the whole thing is worth it. And I'm not talking about necessarily becoming a Christian - but just understanding how not to let those influences ruin their lives.

              OOOh That looked uncomfortable..

I learned about these sorts of events this year and while I haven't been to one, I think the concept is just dreadful. I don't tend to think their stance is anti-drug. I think it's other stuff that the church tends to go on and on about quite a lot. It's their main schtick!! Gays are bad and so is abortion and if you are involved in either, you'll go to hell. Gosh... That's sounds like FUN! Personally, you'll never see me walk into any of these places as they don't tend to crop up near where I am. Thank GOD! But also because, I don't think any message of hate and intolerance should be patronized. Don't you think that there's too much of that in the world? Is it helping? NO! Let's focus on some REAL haunted houses! Not this garbage. C'mon!
