  • Good news for haunters in the North East...

I don't know how much stock should be put into the classic "farmers almanac" but my father swears by it. For October 2009, the Farmers almanac called for an "unusually wet October"... and we sure as hell had it. Now for 2010, the farmers almanac is calling for 2" below average rainfall (1.5" for the month!!!) and average temperatures (avg 56 degrees).

I wouldn't bet the bank on this one, but the Farmers Almanac has been the only way to gauge future rainfall and weather events. Anyone else had experience using the almanac?

            Check out this site!

Right before we opened for Halloween this I found this site.

            http://www.dryday.com

When I saw the site it showed rain every Friday in October, I thought it was crazy and didn't pay attention boy was I wrong!
We had rain every Friday night in October and some Saturdays we had a 1/3 of the attendance we had the year before.

            Next time I will listen.

                Patrick,

That's great news for those living in the North East but what about us here in the Mid-Atlantic? Maryland is below the Mason/Dixon line so are we too supposed to have good weather?

Is there a website where we can look this up for our specific locations? I'd be interested in checking the forecast for our area as well, for both the spring break and fall season in 2010. Thanks for the ray of hope!

What is this rain you all speak of? Water falling from the sky? Wow, what a concept.

But living in the desert means we trade our beautiful falls, winters and springs for brutal summers.

                      Rain or shine?

                      Allan,
Ahh yes, it looks like in the Mid-Atlantic it is going to be clear everywhere except the area between Baltimore and Annapolis... My first post was for the Mid-Atlantic not the North East. Apologies.

                      Kel,
If you're curious, go to http://www.almanac.com/weather for other regions around the country. It gives a month by month description of weather forecasts. It has a bunch of other info in there too.

                        Patrick,

Between Baltimore and Annapolis huh? Good thing our guests are of a hearty stock, they wait in the rain for hours!

We all can use a nice weather season next year though!
