So, since more people are entering the silicone mask "arena", does this mean that because we now have choices, the prices will become competitive? I assume so, as this is a basic economic principle...I'm excited for you Larry.

We're already getting attacked by one of the silicone mask makers. I'll put it out there now. We saw no "proprietry" designs. We started with no idea of how our competitors made thier product. We used our 18 years of Hollywood movie making experience to use. Period.

We hope you love what we bring to the table..........

Silicone is so widely used now it would be crazy to think anyone had exclusive rights to use it for mask making. It would be like saying someone had exclusive rights to foam latex. And molding and casting are true art forms. I don't know any two artist that do it exactly the same. As the old saying goes, there are many ways to skin a cat (I do not advocate the skinning of cats).
However, once I get that nutty professor to give me his formula for flubber, and I start making flubber masks then I'm going to patten them. These masks will not only be realistic, but if an actor falls down in one, they will bounce right back up again.

The best bonder for silicone prosthetics is Telesis V. It is stupid expensive. I think that silicone prosthetics are cost prohibitive due to the number of times we need to apply them.

I'd have to disagree... I think the best adhesive for silicone is 'Skin Tite' by Smooth-On!

Not a prob... We found, that sweat is the main reason skin tite slips off, so, we stopped using it on our indoor actors and just our roamers. Being outside the majority of the time, in the cool air, they tend to not sweat as much.

Touch ups are always needed, as with any of our make-ups, we always did the skin tite touch ups while that actor was on their break... it seemed to fall into place like that... actor break = just in time for touch up! hahaha..

                              Silicone possibilities

I think there will be a lot more silicone pieces in the future, whether it be props or masks. I think we'll see more silicone at Transworld this year, maybe even some new companies.

We use silicone masks in our attractions, from both CFX and SPFX and I have nothing but good to say about them. They are a little hot for the actors, but they seem to get used to it. They do tend to tear a bit which sucks because they are expensive, but I still think they're worth it.

Excited to see new masks coming from other companies. I agree, I don't see how anyone could claim any rights to silicone as a mask making material.

Like I said, excited about the possibilities.
