  • Forbes Magazine rates St. Louis

Forbes Magazine names St. Louis the Seventh most miserable city to live in the United States. This was based on economy, unemployment and crime rate. And other things like commuting back and forth to work ect.

    Dontcha "Love" Magazines?

40 years ago I had a subscription to Newsweek, one issue had a chart showing the income with size of your family and what meant "Poverty", I was not listed on their chart at all, (too low) So I figured they were telling me I couldn't afford a subscription to their magazine. so I didn't renue.
I'm sure glad they told me that!
All print media HAS to fill a page with something everyday and as long as that situation exists, you will not be finding full-truths waiting for you there.

Ya I found this humorous. The first thing they mentioned was the St. Louis Rams winning only 6 of 48 games in the last 3 yrs. Well at least the team hasnt packedup and left yet.

I have a hard time believing Flint is the 5th most miserable city. I guess life must just be euphoric everywhere and I don't know what I am missing.

Half of the list came from only two states, Michigan and California....

What in that list would make someone miserable....

Again with the strip clubs and it always seems to get first mention by you St. Louis residents. Someone build these guys something other than a strip club!!

Yeah if you driving to St. Louis bring your gun. If you don't bring one no problem they will give you one at the rest stop... Be careful!!

There isn't a city in America or a state that doesn't have a prison, that doesn't have crime, a ghetto and this includes Hawaii because I heard there are places over there you will get robbed. Your read about people who attack tourists in Orlando and rob them.

Forbes does nothing but come up with lists to drive traffic I put no weight into it what so ever... its bull!

St. Louis has some very POOR area's in the CITY with HIGH CRIME RATES but that should reflect on the whole area...that is bull. St. Louis is NOT dangerous no where close to the downtown area no if you steer off several miles away from downtown and end up in the hood its no different than any other city in America.

The funny thing about St. Louis is less than 10% of the metro area even lives in St. Louis... about 300,000 people live in St. Louis... the metro area is nearly 3 million. I wouldn't live in the city, I wouldn't live in any city I live in the county with my walmart, target and houses with yards and grass. LOL

I put no weight into this what so ever... its bogus. If it was dangerous I would move!

Well not to bring up old news but the crime rate in St. Louis did effect the Darkness and Creepy World. They were both robbed. Creepy Worlds trailers were broken into. And the Darkness was ramsacked after they closed during the season. Not good!

After living in Southern California (LA county) for 18 years and living in St Louis for 3, I will say that hands down, StL is by far, a much better place to live.
