  • Halloween on Sunday?

HI all ,we r debating this year if we should b open on Sunday Oct. 31st, yes it is Halloween but, out whear we r we never do good on Sundays? What are your haunts doing?

I know for our haunt, Halloween tends to be a slower night (we're competing against a ton of bars and parties) and sundays in general tend to be slow.

The park I work for (and have my haunt in) is not opening, we pay actors, pay gate and ticketbooth folks and pay the bar and food folks. The overhead is to high.
Instead I will either volunteer at a friends haunt who is open or I will have a Halloween party (thats up to the wife)

I have never seen a busy Halloween night or a Sunday in the 14 yrs I have been involved in haunted houses. I'm thinking that these two factors combined will make it not worthwhile.

Halloween night has almost never been super-busy here.
I used to think it was because people are going to other haunts that are Not open every night of the year.
But then I have seen very busy Novembers IF the weather remains decent /predictable.
If bad weather hits November first the business is similair to the victim in the old head chopper, "CHOMP! That's IT. Kapootz! All done, finale!

Yeah, we got a fair amount of people this last Halloween. Our problem isn't finding the customers, it's getting our actors to show!! Because we have plenty of teenagers, they're more concerned with trick or treating and partying til the pass out!

...we're gonna be open this Halloween...cross our fingers for a good turn-out

We will run the inside haunt in the day time to catch the pumpkin patch crowd but still iffffy for the night. I see a problem also with getting the help there.

                      Hmm...

We always have a good Halloween Last year it was our best night. Sundays at the end of the month are good as well. We will be open for sure. Plus a lot of people have a tradition of going to a haunted house on Halloween. Great night to take the kiddies. I would encourage you to consider being open this year on Halloween.

We will be open, and expect a good turn out, but not as much as Saturday. We will probably not be open past 11 that night (unless there is still a line). The biggest change will be we are not going to be open the day after Halloween this year. On weekends, it is worthwhile, but not on a Monday.

the haunt i work at will not be open on sundays at all so kinda makes you think about this years halloween on sunday. The past 9 + years i have been working there it's been like that. but when i do start my own, i mite take the sundays off but when it comes to halloween on a sunday then i will put ads out there that i will let poeple know that i am open on that day.
it's ok... the dark has many faces you can't see..

Open Sunday. Do a special promotion or give something really cool away to draw more attendance. Halloween is the reason you even started doing haunted houses anyway probably. But if you decide not to open and have family spend time with them. Sometimes that gets taken away when you do a haunted house.
