Do you allow patrons to pay with credit card? In San Antonio the sales tax is 8.25 %, that would kill my margins if I take it out of the ticket price

"Business" never pays their own taxes, the customer pays it for them, that's why prices of goods and services increase along with taxes.
Just starting out will be an up-hill struggle but then it always is, you should have figured this beforehand (I'd hate to be the one just breaking the news to you at this moment, tell me I am not that person.)
Getting the word out that you have a haunt and getting people to give it a try and making the amount of entertainment commensurate with the admission charged are all tough tasks to get a handle on, use a pot holder since many do burn their hands.

I wonder out of each ten people, how many work for the government?
At one time it might have been 2 or 3 of those ten?

Greg, this is one of the things you need to take into consideration when determining your ticket price. Remember, you can always remind the customer that "Tax is included!"

Dave, that's it! We're moving to Oregon!

we included the tax too so we wouldn't have to deal with the change. its 9.75 % here too. and that comes right off the top.

I live in PA and it's 6% here...
It's always been included at the haunt I volunteered at!
                          9.25%---OUCH!!!
I think it'd be too difficult to make change...

Right after World War Two they taxed restaurants here if they allowed any dancing, even just around a juke box by two or three people!
They hired a spy to keep track of this too!
After honing his skills here he got a job with the IRS!?

                              So Jim,
                              Were you that said spy?
Or was that a forefather of Mr. Tuxedo?
