Need help with Freddy Krueger Costume

I am trying to put together a great Freddy Krueger costume. The only thing I havent been able to find is the sweater. I see all the costume sweaters but they look kind of cheap.

I run a movie theater and am in the process of building a boiler room in my lobby and will have Freddy in it the opening weekend of the movie for photo ops and to advertise my haunted house. When its finished ill post some pictures.

I appreciate any help.

Check your thrift stores and yard sales see if you can find just a red sweater if nothing else then you can Dye the black stripes into it if nothing else.
Also try to search the web.

Dave Miller Creations makes the best sweater available, but they are hard to come by.

Costume...

Freddy's real sweater was actually red with green stripes. The reason Wes Craven choose those colors was due to a study he was reading on color blindness. Many people are red/green color blind and can't distinguish between the two side by side.

Anywho, to answer your question David Miller does make the best sweater out there. Look on Ebay for 'bad dream sweater'. They are a little pricey tho. Not sure you can get it in time for the premier but would be worth checking.

Thank you all.. I found one that looks pretty good just needs dirtied up a little bit. I posted a pic in the first forum. It turned out really good Ill get more pics up when we get Freddy in there. Thanks again.
