For the last three years I have been trying to introduce a simpler, easier way of haunting. (now for those of you with permanent locations or tons of storage space this is probably a dumb Idea) At first I brought this Idea to hysteria city and we brought transworld with lots of interest but unfortunately our cost was to high!

Ok enough back story. So here goes, the idea I need your opinion on. After many years of haunting, setting up, tearing down. packing away, etc etc etc... I came up with the idea of using rented tents, rented chain link, and printing all my scenes on Matt high res vinyl. The beauty of this system was I needed fewer props to pull off a convincing haunt and had much less overhead and stuff to store.This system was used to create a 5 haunt park in 2008 but unfortunately contract problems kept us from using it again, although the customers seemed to love it.

What we tried to sell was pre-printed High res vinyl, but what I have learned is that most haunters have their own printer that they use to print their signs for their haunt, and we just could not meet the price! What I am asking now is there a market for high res graphics that you could download and have your printer print to use in your haunt? Kinda like a high quality scene setter!

I would appreciate any opinion you have to offer.

I like the tent/chain-link fence idea, however the printed vinyl is where I fall off the bandwagon. My goal is realism in a haunt, so "high quality scene setters" probably wouldn't do much good. I could be COMPLETELY wrong though. Do you have any pics of a scene that you had set up?! Cool concept though.

I'd have to agree with Freak.. I've seen the vinyls and unfortunately they just look like computer generated images. Sorry... Haunted Enterprises has the images posted and they just look too "computer". As far as using them in a haunt they just don't have enough realism. Maybe if you took a real high res photograph of an actual wall it might help. The only problem here is lighting. You put a light on a scene and each piece casts a shadow, when people walk past they throw shadows on each individual piece. You want past a vinyl wall and you have one uniform shadow on the vinyl not on the images in the scene.

Now if you could get a printer that can print true florescent colors on a true flat black background you could probably preprint panels for a 3D Haunt! With the time and skill needed to print good 3D images, having them preprinted might be cost effective. The only drawback is that each 3D haunt is a carbon copy.

The only other option might be if you used preprinted panels for a small kid's haunt. Then you could lean towards the "cute" end so the lack of realism isn't an issue.

Good thing Halloween is just my hobby now! Only came up with the Idea because chain link is fireproof and you can buy class 1 rated vinyl!

The 3D idea is a good one. Every 3D haunt being just like all the others would only be a factor if two haunts near each other both bought lots of your sheets. Otherwise the patrons wouldn't know. Existing haunts could add them in for more variety and for a larger walk-through without anyone really noticing the duplication. I think you could sell quite a few of them.

AWESOME idea about the 3D panels. Now THAT would be worth investing in. Like you said, with haunts in different markets it wouldn't matter if you had similar panels. What about getting customized panels?! It sure would cut down on work load of painting each 3D artwork.
