  • Off Topic: but does anyone here go geocaching?

I'm planning on doing some caching around the Columbus area while at MHC and I was wondering if anyone here also did it? If so, if you'd like to get together and go after a few, let me know. It looks like there's a couple dozen within walking distance of the hotel.

If you don't know what it is, never mind and please return to your regularly scheduled program...

I had a few actors that were really into it 2 years ago. I use to have them put DarkWood Manor buttons in the caches they found. We thought about putting a cache outside of DarkWood somewhere, but we never got around to it.

      7? years now.

A hidden little plastic box over the cliff behind The Ravens Grin Inn awaits those geo-serchers.
The clues pertain to my house "Bird".."Raven"?
Then the wooden stairs go down and down into the jungle. My sign warns about slippery steps and poison ivy risk, both very real.
One time there were some small plastic zombies lurking in the hidden box which really tripped the trigger of a haunt worker who was combining geo with coming to see my house.
Sometimes the trees block accurate signal reading and they will ask us exactly where the box is down there. Of course it has moved some over the years because trees rotted and fell, ex cetra.
Many more people now know about my house than did before because of this hobby, AND they know how to find my house!

The wife I do it fairly often here in Vegas. Just remember, if you hide a cache, trying to use it as a promotional thing, it might not get approved... but there isn't' anything wrong with dropping trinkets for your haunt in caches that YOU find!

                  It's fun!

It is something I have always wanted to try. When are you planning on searching?

Probably in the mornings before things get cranked up, but it will probably be whenever I have time to get away for a couple of hours.
