  • Sewer/Great Pneumatic Cylinder Find!

Well, for the past two nights we have been working on our sewer section. Last season we had a pitch black maze and to spice it up a bit this season we were building out the front to resemble a sewer. The rest will remain blacked out. The ceiling is curved and the walls are covered over with a haunters best friend...MONSTER MUD (5 parts drywall compound to 1 part white paint). The monster mud was stippled on to give the feeling of concrete when it dries. Our budget is EXTREMELY tight so for bricks I carved out foam paneling and covered it in monster mud too. The walls are painted with watered down paint (burnt umber) and the pipes are covered in an orange paint and saw dust mixture also painted over with burnt umber. All the painting techniques applied were learned from Larry's detailing DVD. It's taken us 2 days with about 6hrs spread between the two to get this far. We have a lot more to do. We also added a busted pipe with water being pumped through it and hope to add some Sinister Scents. I carved out a quick "city co sewer" sign from foam. I'm not too crazy about it so it's not final but at least we're cookin with fire so far! The sewer door we have is a wooden door with windows we had laying around. It has been painted gray then "rusted" up a bit.

As for the cylinder find...it was more like THEY FOUND US! A new member of our team brought a box full of cylinders to us the other night. It was quite exciting because most of them are Bimba and they were completely free!! Who knows what we'll use them for?

That looks great, I like the sign you made but it's up to you if your going to change it. I had that dvd also along with many others. When I sold my haunted trail the guy who bought it was going to make copys, ya what he did do was just take them. Larrys dvd is a good one, I may buy another copy.

              So is it tempting?

With your own sewer to begin singing songs from Phantom of the Opera?
The female patrons would love it I bet.
I hope vandals don't T.P. your "sewer! hahahaha!
If you have a public rest room anywhere near the "sewer" you could also get some aromas of a realistic nature for free.
You could get a real sewer auger, remove the knife, replace it with rubber inner tube cut to look like the knife and run this through a pipe down near the floor, I think this would get many people. Limit the travel of the cable because they can tangle and twist up and gain more altitude to whip someone.
