  • Making Masks?

Okay, first and foremost, I am not the same Cacklestheclown that was on here about a year ago. I am his cousin. We both used to be obsessed with the haunt industry, but the original Cackles has left it, as I'm sure you know by the thread he left. I am not judging him by his decision, and ask you not to either. Since he is no longer using his account, he decided to let me have it.

All right, on to business! I am thinking of going into the mask making business! Does anyone have any suggestions on what products I should use to do this, tips or tricks of thee trade, etc? I was planning on buying the starter kit from The Monster Makers.

By the way! Once I get good enough, I will be selling my masks on an online store! I have already set up the store. I am known as the Mask Maniac on there. Here is the address: http://maniacalmasks.webstarts.com/index.html

And btw: when I've gotten good enough, I will be taking custom orders!

    "Cack"

Do you realise that it might take you a few years of study, possibly in the company of an established mask maker, to arrive at this goal ?
Then you have to learn to paint.
To really put out work excellant enough to pass inspection by critical eyes in the light of day you will be needing to master several crafts that go together to become as one to achieve a final salable , profitable product.
I am not saying that you can't do it, maybe you are already half-way "there"?
It might be like those Hollywood "Over-Night Sensations" that have actually been studying for 15 years before it all can come together for them?
Part of real talent is making something look deceptively easy, just don't be deceived, not much any of us can do and do well is really that simple or easy. All this said, just incase you didn't know, maybe you already do?
Just trying to enlighten and help.

Delete this post, or edit it to be differeent.
I dont think you realize how you sound.

Im going to be a plumber, Im learning how to do that next year, tell me about how you like your plumbing done, and different plumbing techniques, then I will come and fix your pipes! As soon as I learn what Im doing I will build custom bathrooms!
      Would you trust this plumber?
Your asking us to teach you, then you want to sell us a product we taught you how to make. No one will trust your business or think you know what you are doing because we know when and how you learned it, If you are learning from us then you will never know more than us.
Make masks, I do not want to discourage you from doing that and one day I do hope you add to peoples options but this is not the way to do it.
Do not ask me now, but once you get your kit and get stumped feel fre to PM me and I will help. I make alot of masks.

          Excuse me?

My cousin is not a dick! He is just having some trouble coming to terms with what it is God wants him to do. He has nothing against haunters, he actually thinks it is a great way to have fun. He just needed some time to get over his obbsession with it. Now that it's been more than a year, and he's even considering going back to the house this year. He says he's realized that he wasn't exactly the best Christian image there, and from what he's told me he really wasn't, and he wants to go back to, if nothing else, show everyone the way he really is. Please refrain from insulting my family again.

PS: ok, I'm going to go get my own account right now. I will be called. . . Darkestnight!

Please re read my post, I never said your cousin was a dick. You obviously felt the need to preface anything you said with a disclaimer stating you were not him. reguardles glad your getting your own account.

"no one will think your a dick based on the last person who used it"

Definitely re-read Allen's post, and listen to what he said. Do your own research and start making them at first, then if you have a question here and there, ask (Allen H.... one of the most helpful people I know)

It is one thing to ask a question here and there as you are making them, but another when you ask how to make them.
