  • Sponsorship?

Getting ready to run headfirst into our debut year, I was just wondering what kinds of deals and exchanges to expect when going after a sponsor? In particular with a radio station and restaurants. I'd like to get some examples before we start doing this.

For year one it's probably best to go after in-kind deals. Do some trades with tickets for promotion and things you need. Build up some sponsors for a while then as you grow and are able to offer more by way of heavy traffic and impressions you can go after larger companies. Maybe start with local businesses then go after national businesses in the future...

With radio, our local station gave us 3 spots for the price of 2, a live remote broadcast, free shout-outs (this is like having another 100 impromptu spots), and 100 ticket give aways, 2 at a time, so another 50 spots.

For businesses that help us out with some donated product, they get their logo on our "thank you" banner in the queue line.

For business that donate $$, we have various levels the top tier mentioned or printed in all our ads to the bottom tier only getting their name on the "Thank You" banner.
