Real Looking Surgical Props

Hey everybody! I need to find surgical tools for the costume for Dr. Scary at my haunted house and so far I have not been able to find any so I would really appreciate if you guys can help me out or at least point me in the general direction.

How about you go to a surplus site and purchase some cheap scaples and other tools but modify them to make them safe for the haunt. Like dull down the tip and blade of the scaple. I found a site where they sell stuff pretty cheap http://www.indigo.com/tools/scalpel-handles-blades.html

How would you suggest dulling them down to a safe level?
