Crafts for kids for Halloween Haunt?

I would like to add some kid friendly festivities to a haunt and would like to get some ideas from the members. I would also like to keep it inexpensive. Thanks

Have you considered Apple bobbing a great Halloween tradition that is slowly returning to it's glory. you can even attach numbers the coincide to small prizes for the kids who participate like little prize bags of those plastic flip frogs and spider rings.

apple bobbing excellent idea. Any other idea greatly appreciated as far as a craft something to keep kids occupied.

Alternate form of apple bobbing you can tie apples onto a string and suspend them in the air hanging. or you can have someone reading some mild childrens stories like the legend of sleepy Hollow.
one place I saw had a mini curio cabinet with diffrent artifacts like a horse shoe from the headless horseman's horse and other semi spooky fake artifacts he aged and made from diffrent childrens stories. You could also attach a picture of the book's cover they are from and tie it in with your local library.
Depending on what kind of facility you had you could just do a good old fashion maze for them to go into. or a Build your own prop work shop using popicle sticks and glue with diffrent Halloween stamps and construction paper.

Kiddy craft

I had my kids when they were younger make spiders for our Halloween tree... It's cheap and the kids loved it. All you need is Styrofoam balls in medium size, glue, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, black white and red paint and optional glitter... they painted the balls in various colors added the glitter, glued the eyes and added the legs and waited for them to dry... the paint we got took less than 30 minutes and we had other activities to keep them busy while they waited.
