  • Outdoor maze fog problems.

Hello everybody I hope you are all doing well in your haunts so far this year.
here at Dr. Scarys however we have come across a re-occuring problem. we have a outdoor maze that's made of 4ft wide and 8ft tall wall segments that are made of a type of chicken wire because it's oustide and we want people to be able to see the whole maze because with the strobe lights going its very confusing also with it being open like this the wind passes through it and does not rip it down or twist the panels at all.

However this leaves us with a huge problem because we have to lave it open like this there is nothing to contain the fog so it gets blown around wherever the wind takes it. so we need a way to contain the fog and yet let air pass through so it wont bend or warp the wall pannels.

Split your panels, top half chicken wire bottom half solid. that will contain low lying fog and allow your guests to see through the panels as most folks are over four feet tall.
Just running your fogger through 20ft of drain pipe (the 4" black plastic kind) will keep the fog pretty low to the ground.

In our out door haunt you have to use the black drainage plastic pipe (with holes drilled in it) and adjust for the common wind direction for that night. Also we use dry ice or ice in the pipes to keep the fog lower.

Another suggestion would be to use wood panels for just the outside wall panels. I am not sure if you contained your maze in a square area, but if you did, if you used cheap plywood or even black plastic rolls to wrap the outside perimeter of your haunt in, it would stop any wind in the entire haunt (for the most part) and would keep your fog around much longer.
