  • CGI Effects?

Could someone explain the details on how the CGI effects work and/or who sells products that allow you to do this.

I'm not that knowledgeable on the subject myself. But, I think it uses a 3D animation and a holographic projector???? Or if if it doesn't "fly" around the haunt or anything, it may be just an LCD projector. I think they bulk of the work is in the animation of the character.

We can send you a whole box of CGI real cheap, they make good decorations, all of those "Chicken Guts, Intestines"
They stretch good! Make yourself a unique slingshot.
      Good pre-lubricated jump ropes too!

Just google things like "free cgi" "cgi skull" "free animations" etc you can with sometime put together some cool effects with the proper software ie sony sound forge, muvee auto producer etc. They arent the really bad a$$ ones that hpi sells but they wont cost you a fortune when you are on a budget or you are trying to save money to build a 50,000 dollar que line.

                  Thanks!

Thanks to those who have responded, CGI effects on this site are cool.

How exactly do they work? Do you use a mirror, show from behind using 2 way mirror? How do you hide the projector if you use one? Stuff like that.

                    Alex526-

Which site are you having the most luck with? I am still struggling to find any that would help a haunted house.

From what I've seen there are several ways to show them. 1. Stick a flat screen tv up against a wall and build a frame around it to make it look like a window (with whatever the tv shows being what is outside the window), 2.Lay the tv face up and place a pane of glass at a 45 degree angle to create "ghost" videos (ala pepper's ghost), 3. place the tv screen behind a two-way mirror and the lighted images show through the glass. There was a booth at TW besides HPI that had loopable CGI images like the Dead Sea Aquarium and other neato themes. Right offhand I can't tell you their name but the DVDs were affordable.
