Last night the lightning was striking only a 1/4 mile from the house, we had set up a tent for customer shelter, it was pretty full of them, my Wife suggested we bring everyone into the house to empty the tent to protect them from possibly getting electrocuted.
We opened the front door, they all ran in as the rain fell as poured from big buckets.
This act of kindness and concern for one's fellow man was kind of negated a few seconds later as I looked outside and the people waiting in the cars all ran and re-filled the tent!
We tried.

The person that could accurately predict the unintended consequences of an action would have no peer in value.

The only device I've ever seen that allows people to come close to this is when a corporate or college campus allows people to walk where they will for a couple of months before pouring sidewalks. Letting the 'pig trails' become established first then laying down sidewalk forms is a sign of evolving intelligence.
