how many coats did you put on the walls to give it the thick shell

Its one coat, thats all, it expands quite well and I have 1/2" to 1 1/2" thickness everywhere.

Thats Great did you paint it grey or anything

I painted it dark gray all over then drybrushed a lighter gray, I then airbrushed a thin green paint in areas that might have a slime/algea build up, and the I added a dark brown around the areas that might have seepage so it looks like the seeping liquid has stained that area over time.
The last step was two coats of sprayed on polyurethane high gloss so the caves interior looked wet. I was very happy with the results.

what color lights were in it

It was lit by the laser and 3 UV minispots.
