  • I was thinking

I am trying to work on some set ideas. I want my first set to kind of set the "mood" or the "story". My first set is going to be a bed room scene.

I explained in another post that my theme was your nightmares coming to life. I want somthing to happen in the first set. As you know the Boogieman is my main charactor for my haunt.

I want the people to feel like they are in the Boogieman's portal to the real world.

Patrons will first enter a small room where they are met by the "Sandman". Who explains that their eyes are getting heavy. Then the Sandman escorts the patron's down a dark hallway, they stop at a window that looks into the first set and view a person getting kidnapped by the Boogieman.

What they will see: A full-scale bedroom. The set will be dark as if it's nighttime. There will be enough light to see what’s going on. There will be an actor in the bed, sound a sleep. Then fog starts to fill the room, and then suddenly a dark figure appears in the room (the Boogieman). He walks slowly toward the bed, and grabs the actor sleeping. The actor wakes up in horror and starts screaming as the Boogieman takes her away. Then the room go's dark. When the lights come back on the room is empty.

After this takes place the patron's will continue down the dark hall, then into the actual bedroom. Here the kidnapped actor manages to escape the Boogieman and comes running into the bedroom from the closet. Screaming and yelling for help. Then the Boogieman re-appears and takes away the actor once again hackling.

After that takes place, the patron's will leave the first set.

    Tell me what you think!

sounds like a great idea... afterwards you should have a hallway with all shaopes and images, possible a color lazer light to represent going into the nightmare.

    overall good idea!

Excellent stroryline start as well. Only issue I can see is the fog reset, for fog fillling the room, being hard to control. possibly projected fog onn klow glass risers, like a mini Pepper's ghost effect?

        Good point

Good point on the fog. Maybe a strobe would be better insted?

strobes can be over used. Maybe black lights that turn on, revealing wierd inscriptions all over the place? combo?

So three to four people would be involved in just the first room?
What would the total number of helpers end up being then?
Finding enough helpers and enough good helpers will be your main problem, I think?
A haunt heavilly into storytelling requires acting which all takes more time, which may be a good thing if you don't have alot of sq. feet , move everyone slower, make it more of a show.
            "Throughput"? What's that? hahahah!
