Simple and effective rickety bridge

I developed this idea for Netherworld. It was used in front of the rock monster. People would walk on a wobbly bridge that shook as the rock monster moved.
The rock monster was a huge pneumatic prop that along with the vibration motor, will not be talked about here.

The simple and effective rickety bridge was perfected for the Hex House this past year. Guests walked across this bridge and became more and more disorientated. We covered the walls with trellis and then put in strobe lights to really make guests sick.

What you need: 2x4s. and swimming noodles. The noodles are the real secret here. You will need to slice them into small donuts. Ours were about 4 inches tall each. Cut the 2x4s to the width of your desired bridge size. Glue the noodle donuts to the bottom edges, one on each end. Run a pipe if you have one down the center of the bridge. If you don't have one stick two long 2x4s (making them 4x4s) down the middle. Cover this with the noodled boards (noodles face down. Your side walls will keep it uniformed. You should also add some extra 2x4s on the walls to make sure the floor boards don't lift up too high. There should also be ramps at either end to let people walk up in the dark. And, guests in wheelchairs also made it across the bridge.

This bridge can be expensive to make but if you have extra lumber, it's worth it. I returned to the haunt to film this video to show you what it looks like.

GREAT idea with the noodles!!! We made a bridge last year for in our swamp. Wish I had a better pic of it, this one was taken during the set up stages so it doesn't give the full effect, but it wasn't too rickety. I think we might rebuild it anyhow this year since our venue is changing a bit and this noodle trick would be great to incorporate into it. Thanks for the great idea!!!
