    Columbus, Ohio February 23, 2011 The Midwest Haunters Convention (MHC) is searching for scary female characters to compete in the 8th Annual Ms Midwest Scary Pageant. The Pageant has been rated by AOL Online as a Top 13 Freaky Attraction in the US!

    The Pageant will be held Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 9 pm during the Haunted Attraction Association (HAA) Monster Masquerade Party at the Hyatt Regency. Registration is open for 8 contestants to compete for the highly coveted title, along with cash and prizes. MHC will be at the Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio June 3 – 5, 2011. The Masquerade Party will be held at the Hyatt Regency, our host hotel.

    The Ms. Midwest Scary Pageant provides haunted attraction female characters with the opportunity to perform on stage with a frightening appearance and performance! “Crazy Bob” Turner, from the Haunted Hydro and Dean of Hauntertainer University, will be the Master of Ceremonies. The MHC hosts several contests giving Actors and Actresses, Makeup Artists and others a chance to compete with their peers.

    Application may be submitted via mail or e-mail through April 1, 2011. Entry requires contestant register through the web site at www.MidwestHauntersConvention.com or call Tabitha at 513-503-0728

    A panel of judges will select 8 contestants from all entries to compete on stage. The finalists will be announced on April 20 and will have until May 1st to pay a $25 entry fee. Contestants are encouraged to recruit a haunted attraction or business to sponsor them; with one contestant per haunted attraction or sponsor.

    The Midwest Haunters Convention is sponsored by Westland Insurance Services. MHC is a show for the haunted attraction industry and attracts haunters from around the country for shopping, learning and social activities.

    The HAA Monster Masquerade Party, on 6/4/2011, kicks off with a Body Art Fashion Show. Top artists from around the country will feature body painted models Halloween fantasy themed body painted models on stage.

    The party continues with the Scariest Character Contest. This features some of the most frightening characters attending the monster bash. Guests are invited to arrive in character and stay in character throughout the evening. Contest judges roam the party and invite 10 contestants to compete on stage.

    • 8:30 Doors open with background music
    • 9:00 Halloween Fantasy Body Art Fashion Show
    • 9:30 Ms Midwest Scary Pageant
    • 10:00 Scariest Character Contest
    • 11:30 Contest Winners announced

    The Midwest Haunters Convention is attended by haunt producers, actors, makeup artists, scene builders, vendors and home haunters. This unique show is designed for anyone with an interest in Halloween and the entertainment industry for shopping, education and social events!
