Having worked a lot professionally for companies in the scrapbooking industry, I had a grungy industrial kinda look to my work, much more art than slapping paper and photos down. Anyhow, Tim Holtz products by Ranger http://www.rangerink.com/products/pr..._distress.html really worked well with what I liked.
Now since shifting gears towards haunted house props, I still use a bunch of my scrapping products to create props. My favorite of all time is Tim Holtz distress embossing powder. It comes in a bunch of haunt worthy colors and you just sprinkle a little over wet paint and hit it with a heat gun for like a minute to set it in place. That easy. And the effects are so cool! Here's a plain old white all purpose tin from Oriental trading that I sprayed flat black, grunged up to look like rust with some copper and mossy green paint, sprinkled the powder over and it looks like real rust. Also sprinkled some of the peeling paint green on my doll for a moldy look.
Just thoguht I would share since it's probably not that well known but works great for weathered grungy effects and a little goes a long way!!!
