I've been a long time lurker and now newly registered member of this awesome community. I have been an information technology project and resource manager for an un-named major banking institution for the last 11 years (boo, hiss). I am in the researching, new skill developing (prop & set creation), networking phase of my 2year plan to open a haunted attraction in the competitive southeastern PA area. Tough market with some big names (Bates Motel, Pennhurst Asylum, Terror behind the Walls, Field of Screams, Jason's Woods) all within 50 miles of me.
Like many of you, I have been a home haunter for years and continue to be disappointed as the number of kids who come by every year dwindles. The two things I love are scaring the Sh$t out of people and making them laugh. I had an idea for a show about punking people with a horror twist (damn you scare tactics), so now I am focusing on creating or partnering to create what I hope to be a business that can grow over time into a new career.
Going to be at Hauntcon Sunday and Monday with the family. Wish I could be there for the whole weekend but didn't want to miss the Pickel seminar on Monday. Damn Crowne hotel already booked as well. Also will hopefully make saturday at the eastern haunters convention (Mother's day weekend? really?).
Looking forward to learning more and mabe even giving some opinions.
