Cross Advertising

Getting a head start on things this season and I was wondering if any haunts have done any cross promotions. I am considering promoting small local "mom and pop" businesses in exchange for them to promote our haunt. It has also been discussed that we should offer deals for local restaurant customers when they present a receipt from said restaurant. In turn we would promote the restaurant itself on our flyers as a "brought to you in part by" type item.

That's a great idea! Another thing you could consider is having the businesses as sponsors to help get things for your haunt such as commercials on your local radio station or pizzas from your local pizza shop. In return, use their logos on all print materials.

What I did to help pay for my 2009 print was sold ad space on the back of my fliers. I had space for four ads which I sold for $100 each... I ended up only paying $100 for the 15,000 fliers I had printed!

Thats a great idea. I know we spend a nice chunk on flyers and to recover the cost with the blank space on the back would definatly help.

As a techy guy a nice FB page might be a better use of your money. Word of mouth will get around fast if you have something cool to show people. I dont mean a basic page either there alot of html and effects you can do there.

This season we're thinking of cross advert. with other local haunts. It's just an idea as of yet, but something along the lines of "The Big 3"
