Has anyone used rosco fire retardant or Crystal Gel before? The Crystal Gel sounds really cool.

    fire products

The rosco PA and P50 have both been great products. I'm sure it is the same as all other fire retardants, but if you leave the paint unattended for too long it will harden the paint. We had a 5 gallon bucket of black turn into clay a few years ago... it was only about a month after we added the PA to it... but it did work itself out.

Good thread. What do people use other than the standards like Rosco and NY Fire Shield?

          Prices??

Anyone know off hand roughly how much the Rosco 1G Flamex WD & 8oz Flamex PA are? As well as the 5G NY Inspecta Shield for wood? I contacted both the other day with no answer yet.

The only other FR I've come across was on Scare Product's site, which is Universal Fire-Shield. At least they give the prices there ($250 for 5G wood, $300 5G paint additive). I only saw a 1G wood FR available with Rosco. But I do like the simple 8oz bottle idea adding to 1G of paint. Anyone know if the Rosco/NY Fire-Shield products are priced around the brand available with Scare Products?

          Thanks!

And are there any products that you can use after you've painted your panels? Like some sort of encapsulant spray?

Looks like they only make it for fabric and cardboard. Do they have a wood coating?
