  • Mouthless/Open Mouth Masks?

This may seem like a dumb question to some of you, but I'm fairly new at this so bear with me please. I want a mask that will actually show my facial expressions, but can not afford a decent silicone mask. I found this today: http://www.badplanet.com/asp/iteminf...I=6703610&R=&H, but it doesn't really match my style. Still, the idea caught my eye. Does anyone know where I can buy more masks that have holes in the mouth areas like this, or at least what these types of masks are called? I've Googled "Mouthless Masks" and "Open Mouth Masks" but haven't been able to find what I need. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like you're looking for a half mask... Here's a clown one I currently have listed on eBay:

Is that what you're looking for?

Sorry, no. I'm looking for something more like a full face mask with the area around the mouth cut away. Thanks all the same!

Those are actually pretty rare. Mask illusions experimented with them and pretty much abandoned the concept. You have a few mask posts under your belt now- how about tell us what your looking for style wise and we can throw some options your way.
Im happy to help out if I can,

I picked up one like you are describing at the haunters convention. It's a classic skull and for latex, has a lot of facial expression and movement. I know they were changing the design, but here's their site. Good luck! http://www.specter-studios.com/store/

            "cut away " masks

            Dr. Mandrake~

As Allen mentioned those type of masks are kinda hard to find.. and as he aslo suggested ... it sepends on what you are looking for ..

HOWEVER ... Last year I managed to pick something simialr up at Party City ... its a full face and 1/2 head latex mask. of a gargoyle and it was only like around 30 bucks ... maybe less I dont exatly remeber..

It is a 2 piece "mask" the face to 1/2 of top of skull id one piece.. and the "chin" piece is another part.. it turned out really good.. or course you would hae to have a "bald head" and color it or shave your head (the latter of the 2 i did) ...and put make up on the back half or your head .. and it attaches really easily with spririt gum or liquit latex..

It lasted for quite a whle and it did show the facial movments quite well..

OR you COULD just get a latex mask or your choice and do the cutting yourself(which I have done as well with great results) if your "steady handed" enough and just watch your cuts ..

            It is possible ..

But either way ... best of luck.
