  • Haunted Hills Progress

Hello fellow haunters. I thought I would start a build log of sorts as we start putting up this years haunt.
Technically considered home haunters, (we really wanted to go pro this year), we have found that what we give if more than some pro haunt places give.

#1 guy in this is JoeP and then me.
We have about 6 - 7 actors but need more. Know anyone? Send them our way.

So this weekend we got some of the walls up. Roof next weekend.

Let us know what you think and any usefull tips you may have for us. this is our 3rd year doing this.

Very nice setup so far! Do you have a theme for your event?

Can't wait to see more pictures! Good luck!

No real set theme. But a majority of it is based on a zombie hunter. You trek thru swamp, caverns, and caves to get to his land. With some rooms to throw you for a loop to mess up the senses.

I wish we had the space to get real fancy with the set decorations and have more time to make rooms bigger and more detailed, but we work with what we have.
          And we have panels.
Here are a few different walkways. They are in different sections of the haunt.

Here is where Joe is doing rock carvings with foam to hide the spider.

One of the rooms that seem outta place, but done to disorient you, is one that was discussed on these forums. I believe it was Allen Hopps that mentioned he wanted to do a room called The Baked Potatoe. He gave people his ideas on it. We modified it some and built one this year.

All walls, roof and floor are covered by foil reflective home isulation sheeting.

In this first pic, there is a door. It opens inward then disappears when closed.
You have to find the exit door which is almost beside the entrance door. Just pushing on walls will eventually open the door.
Two 800 watts strobe lights make things difficult with all the reflective surfaces.

                    cheap foam

it was only $10 a sheet at Lowes. Its called warming board or something like that. Much more durable than aluminum foil.

                        Wow this is AWESOME!
You should make a costume out of the foil or build a drop panel! I know I would freak out in that room, especially with a scare.

I had to buy it in bulk from Lowes, they dont sell it in Florida larger than 1/2 inch. So I had to get 48 sheets. I sure hope I find use for it. But I got it for like $23 a sheet with such a large order. They are normally around $40 I heard.
